In Cubase I believe you turn local off on your module and set up the sequencer to loop everything back around into the module as you play to recorld midi. Audio is audio and you just set up Cubase to accept an audio input in the project window from your audio card. It's been a while since I've recorded... -

I can hear a difference in resolution from 16bit(CD) to 24bit(DVD), others claim there isn't a discernable one, whatever to that one. Unless you're a studio pro it just won't matter. Have you tried changing the CC# event the hi-hat is sending from the Drumkat? Kit edit screen #8. It sounds like it's set to pitch bend, try setting it to 4 foot control an see if that makes a difference. If there's no change then set the channel to N, that will at least stop the pitch bending. No disadvantage with an SP-404SX at all. It looks like a great unit. There's other stuff that he may want to be aware of that he isn't at the moment.
