Possible easy fix - mount the jack in a small "project box" from Radio Shack - it will hang below the surface of the plate on the bottom and all you would need is a clearance hole for the wire....no more jack sticking up into the drum area. -

Long time no post. So I saw Trans Siberian Orchestra the other nite - drummer seemed to be using a Roland kit - not sure if it is classic TD10 or new TD20.... Nonetheless I was not impressed at all with the sounds....there was a 3 minute drum solo that sounded like practice at a machine gun ran... -
well, here is my take on that.
common sense tells you that they will need to make their pads and cymbals compatible with the new roland modules....to what extent, im not sure.
it makes sense that they wait until their module maker (roland) came out with so they can then make their kits...Leave a comment:

yea, it has been done.
someone claims to make a mic that can be used as both a trigger and a mic....i forget whos it is...
im not sure how good a signal you will get....and a lot depends on what you are triggering with the signal.Leave a comment:

Hart 5.3 and a ddrum4 used - check ebay - should find one between 600 to 800.
Note that the cymbals wont choke...you will also need a special hi-hat adapter.
