When I had an e-kit, I preferred to use individual stands rather than a rack. I piece of hardware I found extremely helpful was the Gibraltar SC-SPAN Spanner Bar. It's a 24" horizontal bar that I mounted onto a cymbal stand. It let me mount 2 large, or 3 small tom pads to a cymbal stand. I guess...

The TD-12 has 560 different instruments while the TD-8 has 1024. Be aware, however, that not all of these sounds are usable. Many are simply sound effects. Vex packs are available for both modules. These are not new sounds but pre-configured kits that are customized using the module's existing sounds...

I began my foray into edrums back in the spring of 1985 when I purchased a Pearl DRX-1 kit for $1200. By today's standards that kit seems so antiquated, with no digital sounds, no cymbals, no percussion sounds, etc. You were basically limited to the 80's drum synth sounds that were popular at that time,...

I have the first version of this kit (the DRX-1 where the pads closely resemble the Simmons pads from that era). It's my understanding that Pearl got in trouble because it looked too much like the Simmons pads from that time, forcing them to go to the design in the photo you posted. What is different...Last edited by DougM; 06-19-20, 10:00 AM.

Given the situation they're in, I would caution people to purchase only items they have listed as "in stock."

I went through this last summer and ended up selling parting out my e-kit piece by piece. It was a good decision on my part because everything sold in 4 days and I got my asking price for just about every component. I found that many people were searching for a specific component to add to their kit...

Can a Yamaha DTX Multi 12 be routed through an EAD10?
I have a Yamaha EAD10 that I use with my acoustic kit for practice at home. There are times when I'd like to have access to a multi-pad to add percussion sounds to my kit. Is it possible to connect a Yamaha DTX Multi 12 to the EAD10 module so that everything is routed through my isolation headphones...

When I was putting together my e-kit piece by piece many years ago, I started with a TD-12 module. Over the years I added to it, especially when components became available on clearance (many of you remember the blowout deals on the silver VH-12 and CY-15R pads for $99). I found the hi-hat and ride...

I had a Roland kit I cobbled together over the years, picking up pads and a TD-12 module separately as they were being discounted on clearance. I recently sold my e-kit but opted to put each piece on CL individually rather than sell it as a set. I sold everything within 4 days. Buyers were looking for...Last edited by DougM; 08-30-19, 09:00 AM.

Having a legible screen was a major selling point when I posted my TD-12 on CL. The person who bought it regularly gigs with a TD-12. His screen went blank a few days before a gig so he jumped on my TD-12 because it had a working screen.
