Back in the day, on stage we did these Clapton numbers ... Cocaine, I Shot the Sheriff, and Layla. All of which gave me room to play around a bit.
I always struggled with the Reggae side of things, getting the feel right, and I Shot the Sheriff left plenty of space to experiment.

So glad there is no problem mate, but the guy could just be looking to increase his income. Perhaps his wife has been on at him about having an extra holiday this year.

Luckily, over here we don't have this problem, .......... well, unless you are seeing a vet that is. They are chancers,...

Sorry to hear that Intruder but know that, the way your brain works, cancer aint got no chance.

It seems to me that once you retire, doG feels the need to give you something to keep you on your toes.

My Brother-in-Law, 72, ex lead guitarist, and was still gigging till about...

    Drum Too

    Here's one guys.

What are your favourite numbers to drum along with, either gigging or for self satisfying ????????

    Three of mine are

'Hard to Handle' by Black Crowes (rock version) or Otis Redding (soul version)

    Also

    'Since You've...

Bottom line mate, you need to learn to live with it. I think most of us older drummers, ex drummers, have problems because we never thought of wearing ear plugs or what ever back then. A bit like smoking and or drugs really, you did not realise your mistakes till it was too late. The only consolation...

Nice one mate, very controlled and a great righthand shuffle. I gave up on this a long time ago. The way I was 'feeling it' meant I was trying to put too much into it, and no matter how hard I tried, I could not cool it. Yea ok, so I never did have much discipline lol....

I'm afraid I hav'nt had an Akit since the last century so, have no doubt, missed out on a load of new innovations. Apart from hardware that I've bought for my Ekit over the last few years, I've not had much interaction, I have noticed that the latest stands and fittings seem to have gone Nuke Proof....

    Gretsch Tom Mounts

I was watching the Isle of White Festival on TV yesterday. a singer called Sigrid and her drummer had a new Gretsch kit and I noticed that the tom mounts were connected to a plate fixed to the top rim, and not to the tom shell. I thought this a great idea and thought they would have done something with...

Close Jim but not quite. Mine drinks Diesel. Know what your saying though. Fuel prices are even worse over here.
Diesel is near £7 for a US Gallon ($8.5). Petrol is a bit cheaper but not a lot....

  • Well that's news to me Will. I have had 3 Premier kits in my time and none came with cymbals. Not even as extras lol.

Anyway the vid did not show any evidence of inversion. Perhaps it wasn't being hit hard enough. !!!!!!!! Give it to me !!!!!!!
It probably needs some butt end treatment...

Yea playing drums is definitely cooler mate. And in Las Vegas too. Have you got any money left for G.A.S. ???? that happens quite a lot here.

Us drummers are never satisfied. We always need something else, the kit is never ending lol.

Remember the 'Spirit of Lily' kit that Kieth Moon played back in the seventies, made for him by Premier. Not long ago you could buy a Premier replica of that kit for £8K. Well ok, 6 to 8 years ago , and that's four toms and two kicks. I don't know if the hardware was included in that....
