    Thrones that adjust low?

I have become convinced that I feel better on a shorter throne. However, mine (PDP 700 series) only goes to 20", a very wobbly 19" if I remove the pin/screw. Wondering what's out there that goes lower (like 16", 17"--not that I won't end up higher eventually, but it'd be nice to...

Thanks. Jared from Drumeo is 6í foot 4 or something...Iím 5í foot 2 or Ď3 depending on whoís measuring. I figure if I get a throne that can go lower it can higher as well, but the one I currently have doesnít go very low at all. I think I have the tension etc. on the pedal worked out to where I like...

Right, but pretty much all advice Iíve seen about drumming is about being relaxed/no tension. Seems if Iím having to press that hard Iím doing something wronfg. Anyway ai discovered the other night that Iím probably sitting to high, even with the lowest height my throne will go. Tried sitting on an...

Thanks. Not that I won't for personal satisfaction but I don't plan on probably ever playing out as a drummer. I've been playing guitar for 20+ years and have a band where that is my primary duty, drums are just something I'd had an interest in for last several years and finally pulled the trigger....

Interesting. I thought it was generally not advocated, bt maybe thatís only for certain styles. I am a rock guy, donít see myself playing latin jazz or anything....

I cannot do much with my ankle yet when floating. More when heel down but still weak, Iíd say. I know it sounds weird to overthink it to this degree but itíll help me to know whatís ďwrongĒ or ďrightĒ, hard to tell always from videos. I say calf vs thigh cause playing with thigh seems clumsy, right...

Ive been intentionally NOT burying the beater even though it really doesnt matter cause its an electronic kit, but by many itís considered bad technique (subjective/context specific, I know). Another thread I read somewhere said that thighs (the muscle that is) are big and slow compard to the smaller...

    Heel up nitty gritty

I realize this has been covered approximately 7 billion times on the internet but the specific info Iím curious about is much rarer.

So I am very new to drumming as of a few weeks ago. Been working on heel up and am still not quite sure I have the FEEL of it right. What do I mean? I mean...

With the kit mounts they have a sort of wedge shaped thing that fits into a corresponding wedge in the CY5 that keeps it from spinning. Not sure if any hat stands have that or if they make an adapter for that purpose....

Goedrum does not know if their units work with the TD1 but say they havent had reports that they dont work, and I could return if it doesnt work. So if were to go that route, what hi hat stand would you recommend? There are $120 hi hat stands and $60 hi hat stands, and I know some dont fit well with...

Thanks. I figure use CY5 since I already have it. I asked the goedrum seller on ebay if TD1 was compatible. Not sure how supportive to those kinds of questions (i.e using some other companyís stuff) Roland themselves are....

Just looked at the video...looks very cool. So you just mount the CY5 (I think thats the hi hat pad) on any real hi hat stand and the controller moves it up and down like one of those two piece hi hat pads?...

Gotcha. I'll do more research. Not necessarily gonna jump on this right away but at some point.

More realistic hi hat pedal feel?

Hi. I am a brand new drummer (as of around a week ago). Already I am wondering about upgrades to the hi hat pedal that comes with the Roland TD1DMk Kit. I donít know the model offhand but is a very simple electronic pedal with no adjustments possible (that I could see). Honestly I have no frame of...
