replied to TD-17 as "entry level module"
Well, it makes sense for advanced features to trickle down from flagship models over time, which is why i think a newer unit like the TD-17 can be considered "entry-level" even though it as features on par with the older TD-25 (since replaced by the TD-30, correct?). However, an argument against...

    TD-17KV Rebate

Just stumbled on a great rebate offer from Roland through the end of this month (January 2019): if you buy a TD-17KV, Roland will send you a free VH-10. I'm a little annoyed, because I very recently purchased a KVX specifically to get the VH-10. I did get the kit on sale for $1599 (discounted from the...

    replied to PDX-100 vs PDX-12
Found an open-box PDX-100 for $178, so I jumped on it. I just think 8" is too small for a floor tom, and I think 12" may be too crowded alongside the 12" snare...hopefully 10" is the sweet spot.

    PDX-100 vs PDX-12

Was considering upgrading my PDX-8 floor tom to the 10" PDX-100 pad, but then I realized that the 12" PDX-12 is nearly the same price (and a new design, I guess). Is there a reason (other than aesthetics and space) to choose the PDX-100 over the PDX-12? Is the PDX-12 somehow "snare specific?"...

    replied to PDX-8 rimshot?
I just tried what I should've done in the first place, and switched around the pads. So I was able to verify that the rimshot trigger on the second PDX-8 pad does actually work, when hooked up to the TOM3 input. But this is even more confusing, because it must mean that the problem is somehow related...

    PDX-8 rimshot?

    Another day, another question (sorry!).

So, brand new TD-17KVX. So far, so good mostly, except that I realized that my second tom is not sensing rim shots. All the other drum pads and cymbals are sensing appropriately in all zones (well, I haven't tried the VH-10 yet, as I'm still waiting...

Got it, thanks for the clarification. I can see how that makes more sense....

Never mind! I think I stumbled on the solution - I believe the pre-installed hardware is an update from when the rack was updated from the MDS-4 series racks to the MDS-COMPACT. Not sure why they include the old hardware, but probably a legacy logistical issue, I would guess.

    TD-17KVX Cymbal Mount

Here we go again...not sure why my last post was deleted, as I'm asking a question about a product in the "Products" sub-forum, I'm not attacking anyone, I don't have a political signature, etc.

Anyway, my question is regarding mounting cymbals on the TD-17KVX. The included cymbal...

    KD-10 setup

Hi, I just purchased a TD-17KVX and hav a question about setting up the KD-10 kick drum. I will be using it with the RDH-100 "noise eater" kick pedal, but the sound isolation platform does not extend to the front of the kick drum, where the little screw "anchors" are. Do I need to...

replied to Which kit to buy?
Just bought a TD-17KVX. Guitar Center had it on sale for $100 off. Also bought the RDT-RV throne and the RDH-PK-100 noise eater hardware pack (kick drum beater and high hat stand), but they won't ship until next month. Stoked!

Now need to buy some headphones. Looking at the Roland V-Drum...
