  • Hey,

D-HiHat would be very nice, in that case there would also be a firmware upgrade, because in the current firmware there are no settings for the digital HH and maybe they would add new instruments for the hh as they did with the brush.

    Maybe something with software will...

  • Hey Dave,

the probability that that works is pretty close to 100%.

The roland digital drum instruments (CY18DS and PD140DS) are plain generic midi instruments, so you can connect them to your drum brain via midi.

    In principle.

    While it...

  • Hey,

I oppose sir! I think we do not have a problem with phase cancelation here, since the two signals do not have a phase shift coming from exactly the same circuitry.

The only problem is that using a y cable would risk damaging the module and distort the signal...

    Hey,

ok, I see. The Roland Driver download does not include the driver! How ridiculous!

Groverk, did you set the td-50 usb mode to vendor?

    Hey,

    Downloading separately from what?

In case the question is "Is there a way to download the driver" the answer is:
Just google for "roland td-50 driver windows 10" 10 of the 11 results on the first page lead to the roland download...

  • Hey tivi,

yes seems so, interesting. Maybe they have a now model to come? I bought mine at drum-tec (germany)

That is what Iīm afraid of, but I hardly believe it, I tested it after your post with a smartphone set to a low level: red led. I was...

    Hey,

no. Iīm not confusing anything. The pd-140ds has built in logic, since its a digital pad, it has its own latency and the latency is different from that of a purely analogue pad, if there is any reasonable latency value for an analogue pad it is in the order of magnitude...

  • Hey,

without being told to do so logic does not modify the midi data.

Imho 90 does refer to a closed (or slightly pressed?) hihat so if your tool maps that to half open there is a problem. 127 refers to a hard pressed hihat. If 127 would mean closed, how to map pressed?...

    Pearl Throne Thumper red/green LED

    Hey,

Iīve got the Pearl Throne Thumper. The manual is a small leaflet explaining how to hook things up. There is a color change LED which purpose is not explained.
After switching on its green and after hitting the base one time it turns red and stays red. What does that mean? Any...

    Hey Scorpius.milo,

    my two cents:
    • •when one likes vst sounds one can easily use a vst on a computer at any time. In case you use a daw for recording or roland dt-1 or have your score displayed on a screen anyway adding a vst is a no-brainer, as a benefit you can easily use software to

    Hey,

ok, indeed Iīm a very soft player, but what I meant is that in my module the default kits were set to -6dB in the mixer menu so they were really silent and I didnīt realise for some reason that the deaf sound was mainly missing volume. The same is true for my drumtec kits for the td-50...

yes very much like I desire. I have it since december and each time I sit down to practice (usually deep in the night) I gratulate myself what a nice drumkit I have :-). Every Monday I play about 2 h on an acoustic kit and it really feels extremely similar. With the td-30 I had before I cursed the unprecise...

  • Hey Chris,

I do not clearly understand whether you agree to Mr Boo or you oppose Mr Boo regarding the velocity curves.

I have digitized two of the curves you show, the first value I will give corresponds to input velocity 0, the 2nd to input velocity 1, the 3rd to input velocity...

    Hey,

you are quite active producing new kits. Will you share the three settings that are most important to adjust when making a new kit with us?

  • Hey Pimenta,

itīs in Setup->Midi->Control and is called "Cymbal Choke Shot" and controls the behaviour of the cymbal when striking it while choking it. Itīs one of the many new features of the td-50 (as far as I can tell). Switch it off and cymbal learning works like a charm...

  • Hey,

its always the same: One guy connects the line-out of the td-50 to the mic-in of his pa and: yes confirmed the td-50 really sounds bad and needs to be sent back. How comes that people alway look for mistakes and erroneous behaviour everywhere but between their own ears.

  • Hey,

if learning doesnīt work as expected thereīs something wrong with the midi data. If you can play the sd there is obviously no problem with channels, device id and so on. In your case you should be able to teach the snare to the desired cymbal, only the cymbal does not work.
