You like as though you've already put in some good time with an assortment of kits throughout your e-evolution. You might find yourself able to even GIVE some tips!

It seems like a whole new adventure with every page turn of the owners manual! Thank goodness for VEX! Their kits are amazing and the tweaking is done by someone who knows better than I!...

Both Roland kits mentioned are built on the MDS-TDKP1 folding rack, which is singularly why I originally purchased the TD-1KV kit back in December (and replaced every single piece, at least once, since). That rack IS super handy though and I've actually built my "mini" kit on it to get back...

  • Yeah I just placed a drumsplitter cable too. I have Aux 1 and 2 driving a BT-1 each (configured as high toms), Aux 3 on a CY-8 (soon to be CY-12C) as a thin crash with a stereo splitter extending it to a CY-12C on the opposite side, and Aux 4 driving a CY-8 China. I'd like to try the drumsplitter setting...

  • Some real sweet kits here! Now in merely my 8th month as a Roland owner (drummer my whole life though) G.A.S. has struck so much that I have enough "spare" parts to build a second "mini" kit. That works out well though since my main kit, though relatively portable, has become a little...

My kit originally came with PDX-6 and PDX-8 pads which I absolutely hated singularly because of the stupid plastic ring on the inside of the rim. I immediately traded out a PDX-8 for a PDX-100 as a snare which I've loved since. I likewise swapped out the rest for PD-85s which I've also had no issues...

  • Thanks guys. I was thinking with respect to the components of a VH-11 that I'd actually be using that there was somehow more hi-hat specificity than there in fact is. So if using only the top cymbal trigger part of the VH-11 is essentially equal to using ANY cymbal trigger in a like fashion, then yes,...

  • VH-11 hi-hat and FD-9 pedal with NO hi-hat stand??

I know the likely preferred configuration is to use a VH-11 hat on a hi-hat stand but I have an FD-9 pedal and currently have a CY-5 mounted to a cymbal boom for my hi-hat and am looking for swap the CY-5 for a VH-11. Can the VH-11 be used in this way or is a conventional hi-hat stand a hard requir...
