  • I would not do a reset or something - I believe there is no need to fix something if it's working ok =)
The headphones volume knob processing had some issues that would be addressed with the next software update.
Nothing critical, just a few little issues. Probably your issues will be fixed...

I understand, but I'm an alive human being, and it is hard to convince myself that I should continue to absorb all the negativity that people are used to throw on the forums, especially taking in account that I'm a developer and I'm picky to customer reports sometimes.

    I'm reading forum...

No. it is not, because it is easy to miss info posted on the forum.
Taking in account all the negativity buildup regarding people speculation about software release, I'm reducing my presence on the forum....

We had zero bad reports about swells. Actually we got very good reports about new swell engine.
If you personally have any opinions or suggestions, but you refuse to send it to support or to the dev team, I believe it is not reasonable to wait for any changes in the swells in the future....

I don't know why do you describe it so complicated.

For good swell, all you need is to play fast edge (crash) roll. Not bow, but edge.
On eCymbals it is not always easy.
In my opinion that is the only thing to remember.

And the cymbal (or any other drum) velocity...

I think the cable version with lock is perfect. It can hang freely from the cymbal without a problem. You can't hang a box from the cymbal, so you'll need two long cables going from ride to the box and then one long cable going to the module from the box....

sorry to tell that but I believe that the "conversion box" design is overkill for this particular task.
And I think people would not have much interest in 109 euro box for this task.
if I'm not mistaken, you need just a resistor or two to make a conversion - and it would easily...

I'm pretty sure that it is possible to create a roland ride->yamaha ride converter. As far as I remember the yamaha ride schematics - it would need just a resistor or two.
Then it would be possible to trigger bell/bow/crash/mute with a single mimic input (with proper yamaha ride preset sel...

  • I'm almost sure that it's a software issue that was fixed a few months ago, but it seems that it still available on some rare units.
I don't think that resetting the unit would help but it never hurt to try.
    I'm working on it

mimic receives big updates every few months, but for people it would never look promising =)

In my opinion you need SSD5 if you are doing some studio recording/mixing.
There are some shaping tools that would be overkill for a drum module (especially the new fully customizable ADSR envelope where you can change even the attack or release shape).
And SSD5 (new deluxe 2 instruments)...

on mimic you have no electric instruments and no SSD3 instruments (so called "classic" - older, highly pre processed instruments with no overhead channel and low velocity layer count)...

Good price and good sound, and a lot of free vsti hosts on the internet.
SSD5 upgrade cost is HALF of the toontrack expansion pack now )))

my point of view is that Steven Slate Drums main goal is to provide great sound for a good price.
There is no FX onboard (get Reaper for $200, it's has all the stuff, and you need a DAW anyway) and no 5.1 sound (that is used in cinema music production, for surround sound etc), but the price is...

I just thought that may be flipping only the hihat to the right will be much better than reversing a stereo picture of the whole kit?
