... which results in very low audio quality ...

    Please read your manual.

The pattern data only have a universe on the TD-30. Outside TD-30 it's just rubbish data, which no other program can neither interpret nor convert. You need your TD-30 to turn it into sound again....

    A few suggestion.

Connect your computer and your TD-30 via USB-audio, using Rolands USB driver. Then it's possible to start a player on your computer, playing the song and listening to it via your TD-30 speakers or headphones. I didn't try it, but you should be able to do one of the following...

    replied to TD-25: MIDI-out or USB-out?
    Hi,

as far as I remember from checking out my TD-30 all 3 options work fine. I think the USB-connection is more practical. I.e. when you want to record MIDI from TD-30 you just tell your favorite DAW to do so (i.e. select that channel). If you want to listen to your final DAW-result, just...

Sure, Timm, but for what reason? Why not using a dedicated kit just for outputing MIDI? I.e. if I just want to record my own playing with a given kit, I use the pattern functionality, which is also available in TD-20 (see chp. 7. Sequencer (Recording/Editing)).

    So, what's the point, what's...

Sorry, I don't get your point.

    1) Chapter 10 of the "TD-20 Owner Manual", p. 74, mentions "MIDI Settings for the Entire TD-20, [F2 (GLOBAL)]".

    2) Just in case: Please don't mix MIDI with the way a note sounds, less even, how a kit sounds. This was done and...

Long, long time ago hp computers were state of the art in the lab. Deleting files wasn't enough: you had to purge the disk after deleting the files ... similar effect?

    What's about using (a different) USB-flash?

Where did you delete, on which memory device? The manual mentions...
