  • So SSD5 is a drum vst as is SD3. They are separate. You canít put the sounds from either directly in a sampler. I know the 2box kits have software to get the samples on to them. If you use them on a pc you need DAW software as someone else mentioned and use either SSD5 or SD3 or BFD as a plug-in. From...

I canít check this on mine as I donít have anything to plug my midi Out into. Or at least I donít where I can do it easily. Would be next week before I can try. What does the manual say?

  • You could go totally old school and get a sampler. I just donít think the sounds on the Rolandís you mention will be good enough for recordings. The electronic drums sounds on them will be though if you were thinking of using them. Itís the acoustic kit sounds which are just too obviously synthetic....

  • Basically the edrum be it Roland or another make has midi out. Midi is just messages and not audio. As above you need a computer to run software. A vst instrument is loaded into the software. Not onto a keyboard. How do you record sound now? I take it is on some form of software on your computer?

So looking at my td30 I use usb and have midi in set on. Usb midi on. My midi channel is the same as yours. Have you tried usb it works great. I even run a midi out from my keyboard into the td30 which then goes through usb I to my DAW so my gues is the midi ports are still active even while using ...

  • I wouldnít want to use Roland samples in recordings right up to my TD30. There just not good enough. I have been using vst instruments now for a lot of years triggered by my ekit. It really is the way to go for recording. Roland are the most popular so everyone thinks they are the best sounds who doesnít...

By the way I do like SSD5 and think it is quite a bargain. If I hadnít just upgraded to Cubase 10 today I may have considered it. I still may do next month. From what I have heard of the mimic and SSD5 they are quite similar. My problem with them has always been the Tom sounds. I love having the wide...

I totally agree regarding SD3 and SSD5. SD3 has by far the most natural sounding drums and feels great to play. SSD5 by comparison sounds more compressed and not as natural. Raw SSD5 may fit well in a mix but so does SD3 using the internal processing and you can use it without for that lovely real kit...

Sorted it but it really is a rubbish way to do mapping and barely any description on what I wanted to do. SD3 is far better. Still the single kit is free so can't really complain. My sons old ekit may get a new lease of life if he uses this

Ok so I watched that video and I had already learnt all that. What it didn't mention is if I add an extra tom beyond the 4 provided and give it tom 10 sound it puts two on the same note number. If I try to drag one of them it always selects them both so I can't create another tom and tune it up and...

  • The trouble is if you do want to have real drummer play to trigger a VST like SD3 or SSD5 etc then they won't be happy with a what you are looking at buying. I know I wouldn't

I have a TD30. If I wanted a new module then I would go for the Mimic. This way you don't need a computer. If however your happy using a computer as your drums stay at home I would actually go for SD3 and not SSD5 since you have the money for it. It really is much better IMO

Well I must say Iím impressed by what they give away. Itís the vst and a single kit. For some people one kit may be enough and itís a decent enough kit. The td30 preset worked great with just a couple of tweaks and the hi hat is a nice response. I donít care for the mapping but then again I donít care...

Great videos. I especially like the individual instrument ones. This is what I want as a demo for a product. I like to hear the parts isolated. Yes good to hear them in a groove but only after I have heard them individually and the toms using a run down....

I still havenít downloaded. It sounds like a mixed bag. I like some of the features mentioned especially the rim shot and snare ring ones. These sound great. Trouble is the snare ring would work great with PS. When I get a chance Iíll take a listen to the demo as at this price it will probably be good...

I just got these last week and to say Iím impressed using them on edrums is an understatement. I remember someone asking about headphones that could go loud enough without distorting. These ones can.

My headphones I already have are a set of...
