This has been their policy since SD2 came out. I donít like it but I only run on one computer. I think itís been complained about a lot but always worth another go if you want to. I have cubase and dongle has been complained about for many years but itís still there.

When it comes to recording I have always gone into edit and modified the cc data. Quite easy to draw in in Cubase. I get the hi hat playing best I can but even then itís not perfect. Foot splash is the hardest bit to get with the vh12/13 it seems the cymbals touch again after the splash therefore killing...

Depends where you are as well. I don't buy new and wanted an extra tom to add to the 4 I already had and got the PDx-100 a lot cheaper than I could get a 2nd hand PD-120. I am also using it for the small tom so size is fine for me. You really won't notice any difference triggering wise though.

  • So when you hit a drum hard and record in SD3 then look in the editor does it show velocity 127? When you click on a pad it plays full velocity. The midi tracks supplied tend to play kick and snare at full as well. Another thought can you record a in SD3 save the full project which also saves what you...

Iíve got both and there is no discernible difference in triggering. The PDX-100 is cheaper but solid

  • Brilliant and well done for getting all the way through SD3 seems to be inspiring you. I know it is me

Agreed get a teacher but make sure the kit parts are high enough so your not leaning onto them and get the kit as compact as you can so your not over reaching....

You should be able to get a a decent dynamic range from the td30. I suspect itís your settings causing the problem. Probably too much compression. Try removing all effects. If you are really out to get a new module then it doesnít look like you can go wrong with the mimic though

  • So have you recorded in SD3 and looked in the editor as this shows you the velocities recorded? It will record exactly what the td50 puts out. You can also check on the td50 what velocities it is reaching. If you are seeing the same then try different velocity curves. Also make sure the td50 is not...

Iím with Alan on this. I would go for a TD30 although if you do have the funds the TD50 with snare/cymbal pack then that may work better.

  • I do think itís worth repeating like Peter does so new people can see. As Iíve mentioned I have td30 and am totally happy with it to practice and ps is great triggering SD3 but I would never use the internal sounds to record or gig unless it was for a none acoustic type sound. the 30 and 50 have there...

  • The layout is simply fashion. Itís gone from this layout to 5 piece to multiple toms and back. I personally donít like it but I have the TD30 with 5 toms. Three across the top and two at the side. The TD50 is a better more advanced model than the 30. If you intend to record the output of the drum module...

If you really want to do it then why not just make a switch. All you need are the sockets, switch, wire and a box. I'm guessing you have somewhere like a Maplins wherever you are?

  • Get a TD30 2nd hand. Solid as a rock and a huge amount cheaper than a TD50. Brilliant option to play SD3. Saying that if you have loads of spare cash get a TD50

If you want a monster kit get the TD30 as the TD9 doesnít have enough trigger inputs. Really solid module. I donít use mine for gigging either but I do use it to trigger SD3 which it does really well

  • It was me who confirmed it. I was away a few days so only managed to try it out yesterday. Very odd behaviour. Iíve already reported a macro bug as well. Iím guessing there will be an update soon addressing the 1st lot of bugs...

  • Just tried the Bell Brass as mentioned by a couple of you and yes another good one. There are loads of good snares. I just can't make my mind up which to use! I do play live by the way just not with an ekit. I tend to do Acoustic + a pad for extra sounds. Plenty of bugs in SD3 but none stopping me play...
