Just in case your comment was directed at me: As mentioned previously I don't have triggering issues anymore since input gain did in fact solve my issues, because I was only at update 1.03 since I had apparently missed 1.04. My comment regarding low velocity triggering was an off-topic general note...

Same experience here (also crazy BTW (multi-diagnosis) - just read my posts about noise a few pages back :-) In my experience all pads can be hit/touched without a response from the module - just depends on the velocity. But it's not because of a threshold in the piezo element/sensor/pickup. I once...

No. I've read all of your posts and I completely agree with your points as I have made the very same observations myself. I was merely outlining how two do a test if I were to quantify the noise somehow. And even so, the test would be tainted. biased and relatively useless. More importantly though I...

Yes, as mentioned I was running the previous version (1.0.3) which I thought was the latest. I updated just after the lastes version had been uploaded not sure how I missed it, but who cares....

I don't think my hearing is unusually (or particularly) good, especially since I have tinnitus. I am just sensitive to noise in general - which might be a side effect of tinnitus (or possibly OCD), I don't know. Anyway, you got me intrigued and I might just investigate the headphone market afterall...

    Status on my Mimic journey..
The latency is mainly a perception thing because of overhead mics i believe. I still feel it to some extent when using a dry sound, but again it's hard to explain and quantify and regardless, I can totally live with it
    * Noise, hiss, analog interference etc....

I think we have established that it's mostly a matter of impedance and implicitly price of the headphones in use - and my Shure 215se IEM are low in both categories
OH, and also I'm very much not a pro..
Edit: good idea with the attenuator cable though...

Thanks for the link. But as mentioned, I have headphones already. My AGKs don't exhibit the same level of noise, but they also don't isolate anywhere near enough. Anyway, back to the topic.....

I agree - I actually did try to create the most dry sound I could earlier today and found indications of what you're saying. Especially the stick impact on the ride gives the impression of latency due to the overhead distance factor. BTW this evening (dk time) was the first time I had several hours...

I just installed the newest yesterday (I thought). Sorry about that, will try it out ASAP.
I'm still heavily hit by jet lag (9 hours) - and a family that demands attention after two weeks absence.. First world problems much?! ...

I helped a bit, I ended at 2x. I also want to try a tiny bit of WD-40 for contact - and maybe a new (stereo :-) cable.. But I think it's probably as good as I will get it now - it is an old trigger from a TD-20BK.

Thanks a lot for the offer! I might take you up on it. But I think...

Ok, thanks for explaining. I'm happy with my Shure E215 IEM even though they're not the best (and only 20-ohm). Too bad with the noise though.

And yes, my vh-12 is pointing(it has a tiny arrow on it) in the right direction.....

I actually don't experience any low velocity triggering problems with my Roland mesh heads. Only my VH-12 had trouble triggering the lowest velocities. But I'm at a point now where it's definitely usable.
My only real issue now is actually the noise from the headphone output.....

Ok, thanks clearing it up. I actually did most of that wearing in cardboard hole myself - specifically to avoid the scenario. But for transportation home I ended up removing that piece entirely and wrapping the module in a shirt ...

You left out the part with "correct cables" They are TRS.

Sorry for being misleading, but I didn't actually write that I didn't try much. I just haven't spent that much time on it. But most of the time I did spend, I spent on the hi-hat. Out of respect for the product and your...

I always play at very low levels because of tinnitus, so that's not the issue for me either. And it seems independent of headphone volume anyway. I tried turning down all effects, like reverb etc. but the noise is there regardless and when I handle the touch screen I can hear static noise artifacts...

My headphones are currently Shure 215 IEM and AGK 240k mk2.

Regarding noise - on my Roland modules I will get a very similar white noise if I have the "mix in" turned way up. On my mimic it's just always there (when writing this I realize that I didn't check for a "mix in"...

Small disclaimer here, I just set it up and haven't had very much time with it yet, so bear with me :-)

Yes, latest software and correct cables that works perfectly with my TD-50/30. My problem is that the very lowest velocities are not being picked up and the hh-control range is very "compressed"...

    Hi guys,
Sorry for all the text but have to share this
I just returned from LA (to Denmark) and before going I spent a LOT of time chatting, talking and emailing back and forth with several GC employees hoping to bring home a Mimic Pro. Finally after seeing online that one item was available...
