  • Yes, consider in-ears. I have both a pair of AKG over-the-ears and a pair of Shure in-ears - and the Shure ones are much better for vdrumming IMO, as they isolate more efficiently, which means lower volume and less tinnitus..

How about a Cy-12c? You could even mount it on a hh stand along with your Fd-8, and get something quite close to a vh-11....

    What DrStackVanHay said.

Just want to mention that TD-30 actually is a nice little mixer, having only the mix-in as an external input - but multiple outputs - which is kind of the opposite of standard mixer. For recording I'm using a pair the other outputs and leaving the master out for...

From the title and what you're writing, I get the impression that you bought the TD-50 hoping to create completely custom kits based on your own samples - is that correct?...

For the first part about sampling drums - I think it depends a lot on your goal. Do you want to replicate your acoustic snare as accurately as possible or simply add a one-shot sample of your tambourine to the hihat. So I would first do a Google search for "creating drum samples" to get some...

Exactly! I whatched and loved it when I was a kid and forgot about it until I heard he died.. Never really caught up on the fact that this quote was used in "Duke nukem" - even though I did play the first 3d video game.

Hi, I've already heard a some of your stuff (subscriber) I really like your music. When played the way (and for the genres) you do, TD-50 sounds quite good. Keep it up!...

Kenster, yeah I could imagine that most companies go for the same, easy and safe approach (wait, why did TD-50 just come to mind?). But I'd love to go at some point just to experience it.. Btw that Monster GO-DJ looks cool - have you played around with it? Are you also DJ'ing, or just for fun?

CrossStick is sent according to DrStackVanHay - I assumed that meant that it simply switched on or of internally
    depending on the capacitive sensor?
Regarding the USB and power, a powered USB hub solves that issue....

So how was namm? I live in Europe and the closest thing I'll get to try is probably IDS in Germany - which is completely the same thing as Namm except it's for dentist and dental equipment

Welcome to the forum. I'm extremely right handed myself and after a shoulder operation last year, I started forcing myself to do a lot of everyday stuff with my left hand to keep it alive. This has gotten me started using it and practicing it more on the drums so I can recommend that approach to get...

I completely agree and, even more importantly, unless you're using multi channel sound card, you'll only have a stereo output. I've tried having only the module output after a (long) recording session. It's really annoying afterwards e.g. having the toms way too high in the mix and not being able to...

Nice work. When connected to a computer does any unknown devices appear alongside the generic midi? I'm thinking it could be a USB sound card of sorts for sending non-midi/raw trigger signals....

replied to Where to get good drumless tracks?
Not sure if they're high enough quality for your taste, but I would suggest to try out Spotify. A lot of people don't realize that there's a lot of backing tracks on there, for all kinds of instruments - including drums - but the majority of them are original tunes and not covers.Search simply for "drumless",...

If one can live without positional sensing on the digital pads (and you're triggering VSTs) it means you can plug in an additional snare and ride to the analog inputs on...

In case someone missed it - the digital pads can in fact be connected via USB to a computer and used (with some limitations) for directly triggering VSTs, i.e. without the TD-50 module:
