replied to MIMIC PRO first gig with new software
    Just a quick follow up...

I dug through the settings in my MIMIC for a short time last night... With the Vex kits I was using for the first time, I didn't set my 5th tom in Aux 1 to the correct pad type. Alan has it set for a splash cymbal so the trigger type was set for a CY14C (I think)...

Thanks, I'll look for the metronome master out volume. I was a little pressed for time at the gig so I didn't get a chance to dig that far in the menus.

Raising threshold is to prevent false triggering.... I had missed hits (no triggering) when hitting my cymbals and on the one tom (aux...

MIMIC PRO first gig with new software

So, I played a gig last night with the new software and new Vex Origins kits (some tweaked and some stock Vex kits, sounded AWESOME!!!) and I wanted to share a couple things. Some great and a few first time problems I encountered.

Our band does not have a sound guy so I run direct mains...

Maybe I'm going about this wrong. After my first attempts, I did drop the input volume thinking it was too high but that made no difference. The initial waveform peaks in the recorder were not very large. Maybe I should max out the output volume of the TD50 into the MIMIC and try that. Perhaps during...

Hello Sergey, I hit my source (TD50) immediately after hitting record, then used the zoom function to move the start time in the internal recorder, maybe that's not the way to do it and that raised the noise floor which made the sample really hot during normalizing/export. Seems to me it shouldn't do...

Thanks Alan. I was hoping I wouldn't have to edit the wavs with any external program, just a straight record into the MIMIC, export to USB and import right back in. Seems like this should be easy to do.

    Scott...

    MIMIC Pro internal recorder issue

Last night I was recording single-shots of percussion hits from my TD50 to the MIMIC's internal recorder, then I exported the hits to USB and then importing them back into the MIMIC. Everything in the recorder seems normal, playback was good and clean, levels seemed fine but.... The imported wavs were...

  • Interesting, as I've been contemplating buying an ATV snare to use with the mimic. I've had hotspot/uneven triggering issues on the mimic with Roland pads, DIY pads, (side and center mnt piezos) so I quit screwing around with it and use my TD50 to midi into it. I suffered with a poor triggering snare...

replied to Mimic Pro with TD-50 DP on ATV adrums....
I do this also.. midi out from my TD50 to the MIMIC using all Roland pads. I had to use the midi learn function on the MIMIC also so all the notes worked. I take the #1 & 2 main output of the MIMIC and run that to the insert in on the 50 and blend that way. I'm using drums of the MIMIC and the cymbals...
