Yes, this was one of the first things I tried with the new version and I'm very happy with how they play now, it's a huge improvement!...

replied to Roland TD 17 Interface Connection
If you want to use midi from the module to the interface, you need to go midi out with a midi cable to midi in on your interface. Does the 2i2 have a midi in socket? I'm only familiar with the 18i20 so not sure what the 2i2 has.

You won't get midi out of the audio outputs (master out L&R)...

  • Since the TD-17 doesn't have positional sensing, you won't really gain any benefit with the centre mounted cone. If you're happy with how the PDX-12 plays for the snare, you could get the same playability out of your toms by using those. Also, you'd have 2" more surface area per pad, if that's...

There's one interesting use I could think of for this even with a newer Roland module,...

Nice demo of what is possible with the sound design options available in the Mimic. I feel that not enough people truly realise what potential there is in the sounds in the module and this goes some way to address that, so thanks for posting.

I'm planning on doing some form of demonstration...

    replied to Rack or Stands?
I've been using somewhat of a combination for a while - I use a side rack on my left and a tripod on the right. The left rack runs from the front, holding my rack tom, crash, hi-hat, sampler and drum module. I use my snare on a standard snare stand and used to do the same with the floor tom, though...

replied to Best used Roland module for gigging
As djska says above, it's a difficult one to quantify just how much difference the upgrade will give you beyond personal preference. If the ability to have faders is going to make a huge difference for your live shows, then it might just be worth it for you. If your pads are working well and you and/or...
