That's certainly a challenging song to play. Kudos to you for tackling it and posting it here. You might try the drumless track version of the song which is generally available on youtube. This may make it more challenging for you, but it is certainly worth the climb....

I upgraded to this for the same reason on my SPD-SX (haven't done so on the TD). If you upgrade the unit mount, you might want to look at the rack mount as well since it becomes the new potential point of failure....

Brings up a good question, what do most of you use for drumstick tips; nylon or wood?...

F5 is the only button you need to hit if the tempo is set and up at the beginning of the song. It would be nice to have that be a foot switch function (on/off) as an option ... . I migrated to the 50 and you can have tempo specific to each kit. I've found that it's pretty easy to use on the 50....

It's certainly dangerous down here... and costly.
Best of luck....

My favorite over ear cans are the V-MODA Crossfade 2. Agree with Alan, though, there are so many options out there and it really is personal taste, once you pass a certain point of quality....

I have to admit that I bury the beater on occasion too (unconsciously). I've been working on improving this recently. Ironically, I found great satisfaction in seeing Todd Sucherman (one of my heroes) burying it last week while taking a Masterclass lesson :-). I feel better, but will still work diligently...

From behind the kit I hear something about the "Key", but alas, I can only offer a drum key...

Sorry for the bump, but I just learned that none of my equipment, or my band's equipment is covered by my insurance and that there's no option for coverage. I was scanning the archives here to see if anyone else had discussed this in the past and ran across this one (only). Please let me know if anyone...

I gig with the TD-50 and SPD-SX. I run 10 channels on a Midas 32; 8 for the TD (BD, SNR, T1, T2, T3, T4, HH/BT-1 (cowbell/top hat), Cymbals and R/L from the SPD-SX.
I use IEM's only, but I do use a headphone amp (similar to this) mounted to my rack. I run the headphone out of the TD-50...

I don't think I can answer the question of the TD-9, but if the output of the mixer is mono, panning would be eliminated by/at the mixer no matter what you do....

Thanks for sharing. Nice looking Kit. I see the TD-50 ride and snare so I assume you're running a 50. what else you got for equipment on there?

That which creates a challenge for you is seen as a benefit to me. I would look for a sound that somewhat resembles a closed HH if available on the 25. I don't know of any other way to handle it from a head unit perspective. Alternately, I typically solve this issue personally by using a 2 legged HH...

Welcome! I have a drum dial and use it on all my mesh heads (KD-140 included). I generally set the tension between 65-80 depending on feel. Head sound shouldn't be an issue no matter where you tension the head. Triggering might become an issue for you if it's too high (bounce/ghost) or low, but depending...

td50 allows for layering of sounds, wav inputs with some functionality, 8 outputs to keep your sound man happy, and many other benefits... albeit at a cost....

I haven't owned the TD-25, but I've owned a TD-9, 30 and 50 and currently own a KD-9 (shelved), KD-120, KD-140 and KD- A22. The single biggest benefit of the 120/140/A22 for me, was the feathering/touch/response. It certainly feels more like a bass drum and you can manipulate the settings to your a...

I was an early adopter of the SPD-SX. I've found it to meet all my needs. I use Audacity (free) to cut and manipulate samples. Looping, dynamics (on/off), muting one or more pads when striking another pad (or footswitch) and the ability to set up multiple footswitches and BT-1's with sounds have certainly...Last edited by dennisdoubleu; 01-18-19, 10:32 AM.

I would consider upgrading your module to another level (TD-30) or adding an SPD-SX, vs. a second 17.
With the TD30, you can actually set a kit up where one of your triggers operates as an additional top hat (controlled with the same foot switch or standard HH pedal). I used this in the...
