  • I noticed when I cleaned my Cymbals with the Aerospace 303, I would get black residue transfer to the stick tip. I figured I had not cleaned off the spray well enough and some kind of slight chemical reaction was going on. I mean the cymbal looks great kinda wet.
I got back to the cymbals and...

    Bass Drum Protection Pad

Just before adding my R-drum trigger, I realized I forgot to include the Bass Drum Protection Pad. They call it a Protection Dot.
Gibraltar reviews for their pad are horrendous. Sounds like fall right off.

Which makes me think, this particular product needs to be very good quality...

Holy cow, how do you guys do it. Bring up such timely issues. I will be doing this exact mod this weekend. Just delivered my R-drum Kick trigger bar and I have to walk through this process. Excellent instructions folks. Thank you for the details.

I was in similar shoes (thoughts) about a year ago. Love my Roland E-Kit. Got good sounds. Could move it around so easily. But like you was peering over looking at more traditional looking kits. I also knew I had to stay electronic to keep peace in the house.

I guess your at the point of...

Thanks Jammin... I just may consider that route, if I can work all the cables. It looks very clean. As of late, I have no intention of breaking the kit down to go to gigs or practice.

So once I was satisfied with how to make this work. I bought a few more. This time much cheaper ones from China. This company allowed me to chose the colors I wanted.

What's interesting in that purchase was despite all 3 coming from the same supplier, the black one is definitely different....

    The exhausting details:

Like the red cymbal felts, I happened across, the cymbal toppers sparked a little something in me and immediately decided to incorporate it on my kit. Can I buy one?

My first find was a Vater skull cymbal topper. I have no words to describe this product....

    Mac's Cymbal Topper Project

    Essentially repeating from drummerworld

This is a side note with my ongoing A2E project

This is really not a project... it became one for me, trying to figure it out.

    The cliff notes version.

I got the spark from a young Avery Molek. In a nutshell,...

I'm fairly confident that Gibraltar (#6) will not topple easily.

Look through Gibraltar's catalog... they have all kinds of equipment. Maybe mix and match? Multipurpose rack.

I have just the GEMS TTOP attached to my rack... and it's big... a little too big for my module. The...

So I notice you put your BT-1 trigger bar, down between your toms. Are you finding that a good position, for what you need it for? I hadn't thought of that.
The reason I ask, where I have mine now, attached to the 2nd tom rim, slightly off center on top between the toms, is just is not working...

    Just throwing this out there.

First thing I did with my TD-15 was upgrade the snare to a 13" Hart Dynamic Hammered Chrome. Got a used one for a reasonable price on eBay or reverb... I forget. Of course, had to get a snare stand, but those can be had cheap everyware.
