See Page 24 of the Owner's Manual

When you only use the Left/Mono Output all sounds are sent over the single output, so there is no panning. This is switched automatically depending on whether you have a cable plugged in the Right Output or not.

OK, So TD-20 (from the video)

The Hi-Hat pedal position is controlled by a variable resistance, and the Hi-Hat Offset Adjustment automatically detects the value of the resistance at the switch-over point where the module should switch between detecting the Hi-Hat as slightly Open and Closed....

  • First you should understand the way the VH-10 works.

Cymbals are Piezo-Switch Pads, with a Piezo on the Head/Bow and a Switch consisting of two sheet contacts on the Rim/Edge, shown in the picture as the Edge Sensor, which close and make a short circuit when the edge is struck.

There are several options to achieve this.

    See the TD-30 Owner's Manual

Option 1 - See Page 117 - You can assign a Foot Switch FS-5U, FS-6 in FS-5U mode or equivalent

  • Also on the Tune Bot website I found their list of Drummers' tunings (very informative)

    https://tune-bot.com/artists/

and they have a Tuning Calculator on the website, and also available as a Smartphone App from the App Store with suggested tunings and intervals for any number...

    Just one thought.
Most commercially available dual zone cymbals (and rubber pads for that matter) tend to be Piezo Switch type and not Piezo Piezo type.
I think the reason for this would be that it would be difficult (impossible) to isolate two Piezos if you installed them on the same solid...

Page 76 also shows that you will be sending the MIDI info for
    Snare CC on General1 (16)
    Ride CC on General2 (17)
    Tom CC on General3 (18)

You may just need to confirm that this matches the other end - superior drummer 3......

If you don't have the TD-20 Owner's Manual to hand, you can download a PDF from the Roland Support Website.
    Google "Roland TD-20 Owners Manual'

I have just checked my TD-20 with TDW-20 (equivalent to TD-20X) and it has the POSI Tab under Trigger-Advanced.

  • See Pp. 131-133 of the Owner's Manual

The first thing to check would be Cross Talk suppression between the Snare and Hi-Hat

Then Retrigger Cancel, Scan Time and Mask....

Most songs do not use Chokes at all. Some that do, off the top of my head:

Queen - Somebody To Love -
    other Queen songs
Van Halen - Running With The Devil...

    See AD2 Manual Page 44.

If you enable the Chokes in the Cymbal Chokes Tab, it should recognize the MIDI signal generated by the DDTi for the after touch on the CY-8 and choke the sound.

    See DDTi Manual Page 20

CY-8 should be configured as PS.
