Well, without a budget, it's impossible to make solid suggestions.
Also a bit confused - you mention effects and also a mixer - two different things, although some mixers have FX built in.
OK - let's start with a stick in the ground. A "mixer" with "effects device"...

KT10 should be - it's just a piezo.,
FD9 nah. Use an HH65.

Of course you could just use a couple of old single pedals with no beaters and a couple of Triggera triggers....

Cool. If you need two different sounds then yup, you'll need to use two different inputs.
Obs, if you have the ability to test then you should. Any shop should let you try it on your module.
As to why it didn't work on an Alesis? Dunno. Unless Roland's done something weirdly proprietar...

TP100 and TP120 are pretty easy to find in the UK.... (best rubber pads ever)
Not tried Yammy silicone pads yet?
As an aside - I love(d) no-manLast edited by electrodrummer; 02-04-19, 07:34 AM.

Yes and yes.
Pretty much any kick from anyone will work - they're all just piezos. If you want beaterless, check the KU100 as well as a cost-effective unit.
To save an input you can also use another 2 x mono -> 1 x mono to join the kicks. Then that 1 x mono into one side of a 2 x mono...Last edited by electrodrummer; 02-04-19, 05:33 AM.

Pads will work OK as single zone across the board - they're just piezos.
If you have any dual-piezo pads you'll put them into any of the dual piezo inputs on the DTX502 - ie. TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 or KICK

Hiya!
Perhaps you could explain the "issues" you have the TD30 - then suggestions of something to improve would be easier based on those criteria

Thing is most drum pads don't register "pressure" as they use piezos as triggers.
This could be done using FSRs - and it's this sort of thing that's used in DTX Multi12 and Handsonics (for example) to do bends and mutes and things.
Alternate Mode's gear is pretty much all FSR.......Last edited by electrodrummer; 01-25-19, 06:57 AM.

Not many second hand as people tend to keep them.
Compare? Much better all round. More features, nicer to play. Features like 3-zone pads for nearly 20 years, along with sound layering and switching, sample loading, etc etc. The silicone pads are lovely... this is subjective and only you...Last edited by electrodrummer; 01-24-19, 09:22 AM.

"not working"
As a start:
Try a different cable.
Try a different input on the module....

"My main issue is I like playing cross-stick as well as rim shots,"
"second hand with a budget of £1-1.5k."
So, a Yamaha DTX 7xx series. Sorted.
No other choice for 3-zone snare. And no horrible bouncy mesh.

Why make things more complicated than necessary, when a $1 cable will just "work"?
