hats off to andy at yamaha support

recently i had a couple questions about my DTX502 module. i couldn't find the solutions in the manual (in 1 case, the manual was actually missing a step), and the original rep tried to help but didn't have all the info. once that rep went to andy, who i guess is very knowledgeable about the module....

held down shift, pressed the on switch, and nothing happened. tried it again. still nothing. tried it for longer, and the module turned off *lol*

talking to a yamaha rep. he says you should turn the module off, then hold down the shirt and press the on button. i did, and it simply turned...

there is a setting for the KU100, but there was a third option that was louder, so i chose that.

doing a search of the manual in PDF form, the word firmware doesn't appear anywhere nor does the word version. the module doesn't show the version of the firmware when it turns on, so i'm...

if only i had a clue i could tell you the response %. the only % i've found so far varies depending on how hard i use the kick, but it's around 29%. hitting the snare at 50%ish.

it's set for the KP65. that's the tower, which you would hit a lot harder than you would the little pad in the...

it's a new KU100 - it arrived a couple days ago. i'm using its own cable, but i tried plugging my snare into the kick input and it's really quiet, too - and i just plugged the kick into the snare input and it's loud there, so the issue is in the module. somewhere....

your kit has a tower and pedal - my pedal has a build in pad, and i don't see any adjustments on it at all.

i have no apple devices, and alas, despite many sellers and reviewers claiming that the DTX502 has an app for windows, that does not turn out to be the case maybe i'll need to...

    yamaha DTX502 and KU100 questions

i just got a yamaha KU100 kick and it's so insanely quiet through my DTX502 that i had to turn the amp up just to hear if it was working - it is. if i stomp hard enough to cause ankle damage, it gets louder, but not loud enough to be heard over playing the other drums even very softly. so here's...

    keeping parts for later

can be very handy! i bought 3 pintech concertcast 10" pads in june, but didn't have a module. turns out one of the three was super quiet, so i figured i'd have to buy one of the piezo/wire/tube of foam kits. imagine my surprise to discover i had bought one at some time years ago, and it was still...

  • i just finished putting together a kit, and thanks to craigslist, ebay and sales, i got some very good deals. if you can go used, a little patience can find you some good stuff. for example, i paid $90 total for 3 pintech dual zone concertcast 10" pads and $50 for a yamaha PCY100, and $99 for a...

congrats - glad to hear you got to test the kit, and that it worked out well.

wish i could help with settings, but i'm still adjusting to my new yamaha module after years with a TD4. so far, i spend a lot of time reading the manual ...

you never know. i know a guy who bought a used bass recently for $300, and this bass usually sells used for around $1200. it was in great shape, works perfectly and isn't stolen. on the other hand, it could be someone trying to pass a problem onto you.

the best thing to do is try it....

is there a way to test a simmons hi hat pedal when my only module is a non-compatible yamaha 502? i can't sell it or give it away because i can't try it to make sure it actually works.

i tried the thing of leaving a tiny amount of the jack outside the module plug, but the plug seems to...
