replied to TD10 kit issue going thru PA
Yes that one has XLR, but TRS plugs can also be used in a balanced configuration.

    replied to KD-9 vs. KD-120BK
I like the feel and simplicity of the KT-10, so much simpler than the entire pad and seperate pedal setup, also the quietest option available. Yes I play jazz and have no issue with feathering or any other playing style, it feels perfectly natural and I never have adjustment issues when switching to...

Can't explain mbro223 delayed sounds issue, but the issue Romano1 sounds like a cabling issue:

These modules (at least the TD-9 and 30 I have) have TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) outputs in a balanced configuration. That means that the L + R outputs are mono outputs but with the actual signal carried...

    replied to Combining two TD17ís
With the TD-9 I could also use this 2nd hihat option, so perhaps that is also supported by TD-17.
Alternatively you could copy a kit, and then setup slightly different sounds between the two. Though I have a TD-30 with plenty free ports, as well as spare pads, I do this for instance to switch...

  • Don't think this really would be an upgrade for you.
Based on my experience with the TD-30 and aD5, and from what I hear here around the TD-50, I would think only the Mimic could be considered a next level upgrade.

replied to Made a 14 Inch Hi Hat and it works great!
    in DIY
I tested the same setup, doesn't work for me: the much heavier CY-14C makes the hihat rod wobble causes repeat triggering.
This does not occur when using the GOEDrum with the CY-12C or CY-5. It works fine with first tests, but in both cases for some reason when playing jazz beat on the hihat,...

  • Honestly, I don't even understand why these modules are being judged based on the default kits. The TD-30 indeed has no useable default kit for me, and many sounds are unusable. Probably no different with the TD-50. So you find the most realistic sounding instruments, such as the maple snare, and create...

to add, the fitbit (incorrectly) interprets the swinging of arms as steps taken.

replied to Support for CY-13R as hi-hat
Btw. the other day tried using a CY-14 as hihat with Goedrum controller. The CY-14 is too heavy though and wobbles on the hihat rod leading to false triggering, this did not occur with the CY-12.
Also, the CY-14 then looked out of place considering all my other pads are smaller sized than acoustic...

    replied to Smartwatch with drumming
My fitbit counts my drumming as steps, so quite easy to cheat to get to 10.000 steps a day :-)
Drumming does not count as exercise in my book, but it would have been useful to me if the watch could log drumming practice time, but the fitbit doesn't offer custom defined 'exercise' (yet)....

Can't see this as being an issue, could always use a cymbal sleeve.
Must say, I don't think the CY-13 offers any advantage to the CY-5, other than looks. The CY-5 is quiet and feels pretty good, I actually use it as secondary ride even though I have a spare CY-12's laying around.

replied to E-drums in a camper van
I would say, depends on the module, the TD-30 takes AC input, so you would need a step-up DC to AC converter. But would you really take a more expensive, physically large module with you in a van?
A TD-9 for instance is small and has an external 9V supply. You may need the DC-AC converter to power...

Just use a bit more force or slightly increase the hole in the cup to mount it on the CY-5 holder....

  • demonocus: I followed the same path: from TD-9 to aD-5 once it came out, but which I then quickly sold and replaced by a TD-30, still happy with this one, only using 2 self-created kits.

holzi2000: I would keep the TD-11 and look into triggering VST, such as Superior Drummer. I would also...

Just want to share experience with the Sony WH-1000XM2 noise-cancelling phones here: I bought these phones in Summer for a really long flight, and for that use they are great, noise-cancelling works fine also works to dampen acoustic stick noise when used when playing on the E-Drum kit. But from an...
