yes, i agree.. that's why i said 'can' get delay.. everybody has different specs on their pc.. different audio buffer settings.. etc, too many variables..
then there's also a lot of people recording midi and later setting it to vst.. so, it seems they are playing real time vst.. ..but they...

and that would be roughly 3 ms for it to travel 1 meter from drum to ear.. so, about 5 ms is same as an acoustic drum kit .. (which 'delay' is pretty undetectable..)
when you go from trigger > module > midi > soundcard > midi > software > sound output .. you 'can' get some...

yes.. but you can add 4 more cymbals to 2box.. by not using tom "rim" sounds, (i think very few people use tom rims sounds)
this way you free up 4 more 'slots' in the module .. with drumit5 kit editor you can put cymbal samples on tom rims and save kit again
    (sound now being tom...

so, you can assign 8 more instruments to slots in the software environment, coming from separated head / rim detectors.. which would otherwise be just single instruments..
well, that's a nice feature.. ..kind of like adding x-pads in superior drummer ..

that is good news.. bad news is the price.. (or it should also support multi sample sound import a la bfd 2/3 or 2-box)
if 2-box made the 32 gB memory officially supported , and uploaded some more sounds, ..it's still a better deal at 1000 bucks .. (my opinion)...

  • here's an opinion of 1 more person :
i think 2box doesn't do enough for users who do not own vst's .. the last kits were added in 2015-ish .. on the download page..
people who do not own VST or SDSE are left hanging .. ..you can re-use your same cymbal set ups in many drum-kits ..

replied to Replacing Rubber Rim on PD-120
yes.. simple.. but check that you only have the rim silencer.. ..because roland also sells rim silencer with hoop included..
and you don't need that.. just the rubber part.. just remove old, clean hoop .. and re-glue new one with bison tix gel glue..
(i find rim triggering is better...

sounds much better than 'just' TD50.. but why o why did Roland not put at least 512 mB sample layer memory into that module ?!!!
just so everybody could fully exploit that layering route.. and that being a 'full' option .. the cymbals are for me still the real power of
    the TD50.. ..but...

yes.. or they would like to.. strike ride 16".. but there's a copyright lawsuit.. this might be the reason no other companies are attempting to make rubber piezo cymbals..

yep.. or 18".. i put an 18" sabian crash on my e-kit, just to check out the size.. but it shouldn't be bigger than 18.. or CY-14's look too tiny ..(imo..)

..that's an idea.. ..but i still would like triggera to make a 17" rubber ride with more (bow) piezo's and analog : )

if you want 'rubber' cymbals (you're not going to put 1 metal cymbal in an all rubber set ? so, that would be a complete overhaul.. which not everybody is looking for..)
there's not much options.. ..besides Roland 18" ride (only works on TD50) or Alesis strike ride (not around yet..)

to be honest.. if the TD30 had better cymbals, i would buy a 2nd hand TD30, play hh, kick and cymbals from this module and trigger
toms and snares from vst's.. run both through a line mixer and have a great kit cheaper .. the only thing keeping me to the TD50 now,
    is the cymbals (sounds)...

ok.. ..i have a 13" snare with 3 ply mesh and a side trigger now (rt30hr) and I like it.. ..zero hotspot.. ..good feel..
if I can I would like to try it on a TD50 module.. when I can find one.. ..i might not need 14" then .. (i never play cross-stick..)
    the posted drum-tec video...

    yes, very detailed 'facts' ..
i would like (and that's just a wish) a TD50 owner to plug in a 15" ride and compare it to the 18" ride (using the analog inputs) and compare if it is just a 'size' thing .. or more..
same for the difference between a 12" pad and the 14"...

  • just Bison Tix Gel glue.. i put it in the entire inside of rim silencer and put it back on.. and 'wringe' it very tight to metal edge.. next day its hardened..
the thickness of rim silencer makes a lot of difference too.. the 4,5 meter drum-tec works best for me.. very 'sharp' rimshots.. and...
