Yeah, the Drumit Three should be just like the Drumit Five for the dsnd file format. And as far as the 4GB internal card, when I get my hands on a Drumit Three the first thing I will be testing is the potential to change the card with an external 32GB card mod kit. My guess is the same cards that work...

The 2Box module format is not difficult at all IMO. As far as dialing in pad trigger parameters, like with any module, that is normally just sitting down once or twice to dial things in, then you should be set....

The TD-50 works fine with earlier analog pads. But some slight trigger parameter changes may be needed. Specifically the Head/Rim Adjust parameter in this case to eliminate any rimshot sounds triggered from the head or vice-versa. You would think the Pad preset should work fine, but still some changes...

Master Yoda, No ...... worried not am I. No deal breakers. I paid for the Mimic in full months ago, just waiting for it to arrive. I was just pointing out that the "editor" is not out yet, so those speculating about the capabilities or features is just that, speculation. But ...... of course...

With all the talk about the editor. At this point there is nothing concrete about any specifics. Multi velocity editor might mean it can do many velocity layers, or it could mean a very limited amount of layers. To me the editor would be pretty important as it would make it possible for me to add those...

  • Yes, the older Roland modules ..... example TD-3, TD-6, TD-8 have velocity switching sounds and switch to bell sound on highest velocities. But even though 2box uses a similar principal, because the piezo is located in the bell, it works more naturally....

  • 2Box cymbals are actually just 2 zones, piezo and switch. 2Box module uses velocity switching for Bow/Bell sounds ...... it detects hardest velocities (piezo) as Bell, lower velocity (piezo) as Bow. Edge sounds or Choke are from the Edge switch. So, you would probably be able to set a 2Box cymbal up...

  • Interesting subject. I guess most of us that started on acoustic drums would normally not have the habit of burying the beater except when using that technique on purpose, like in some jazz beats. Playing acoustic kick I would never hold the beater against the head in normal play. I guess that is why...

As with any new equipment the first thing would be to read the manual. The triggering behavior you describe is adjustable by trigger parameters as covered in the manual. Threshold and Sensitivity are the 2 first things that you should be reading about. The PD-140DS has a 3 ply mesh head and is purposely...

You are definitely limited by the features supported by specific modules. For example many Alesis modules (or Pearl Redbox, DDrum DDTI) support only Single zone HH cymbal instead of Dual zone like Roland and other modules. Alesis modules (or Pearl Redbox, DDrum DDTI) support only Single zone crashes...

replied to Module for electronic percussion.
The 2Box is a great module for Percussion. There is already a lot of high quaility percussion instrument samples on the module and you can build your own from VST software with SDSE and put those in the module. I have a 2Box module dedicated to percussion using the onboard 2Box sounds and plenty I have...
