    Yo!

    Been lurking for a wee bit -- time to say hello! Two years ago next month, my wife gave me what has turned out to be an expensive present: two hours of drum lessons! That May I went out and got myself (most of) the kit listed below and haven't looked back. Having the time of my life! Been a musician in various forms since I was about 6, IT professional, 3 kidlets (one of whom wants me to teach her drums -- she's 8!). Glad to be here!

      Welcome to the forum. We all like to see pictures of your kit. Did you learn with match grip or traditional grip?

              Will post pictures later today! Started with match grip and folding in traditional starting about 4-5 months ago; so far, my hands greatly prefer match grip. And my left foot refuses to cooperate on a regular basis .

                  I am using match grip as well. I started taking lessons (only one so far because my teacher is on tour) and we discussed starting traditional grip because I am missing my left index finger. The traditional grip is very awkward for me and I don't see how to get much speed because I can't seem move my 59 year old wrist that way. We will see where it goes.

                      My kit from perched above as there's no place for me to stand for any other shots, really . The scarf on the music stand is from my daughter, and is a Steve Tyler reference . You can almost see my DA200S, top right corner.

                                      Welcome. What a fantastic looking set. You really made the most of your kit. Your daughter is certainly the budding artist. She has a great eye. Nicely done.
