  • Hello!

Hi, just wanted to re-introduce myself after a few years. I just bought a TD30kv. I had a TD20 a few years ago that I used to record our bands album. I appreciated all the recording advice I got from you guys. I Sold it to buy a Sonor SQ2, which I love. I need the practice so I got a new E-kit. I look forward to sharing ideas, settings, banter etc....
I'm in a new band and we are just starting to gig in Sydney now. we play Led Zep, Purple, Bowie, Joe Bonamassa, BCC, Trower, Fogerty, etc. (good old rock!)
I just bought some kits from V-expressions and they're great! Although I do need a really good Bonham Kit. Any Ideas?

Gorgeous SQ2, i'm looking at getting me an acoustic kit as there seems to be a bit of a reluctance for electronic drums at plenty of venus...need to convert them

I bought the VEX Strike pack and I've been using the "Black Beauty" kit for Led Zep style music, not that we play much of that in our band. A year or so ago, Simon (Roland Australia Rep) was showing me the TD30 for the first time and he was adjusting various settings with the kick drum microphone and "kit resonance" settings to get a bonham like sound.

Cheers. yeah I'm researching speaker systems now, I really want to give them a go at a gig. not 100% convinced FOH pa will cut it!
I just got the Strike pak. I'll have to play around with the settings a bit more!

I bought a Mackie DLM pa. 2x 12" plus the matching sub. I take the 2 satellites to band practice and they easily stand up against the big Marshall stacks

Wow, that Sonor is a beaut! Excellent choice in finish too. The TD30 is a great kit. I never owned one but when I had my TD20 Allen had several Zep kits. I am sure he has made some Bonham kits for the TD30. Have you emailed or messaged him? He is a good guy and will get back to your pretty quick. If you ever venture into VST triggering, there are a lot of great Bonham kits available. Welcome aboard.
