  • Hey Everyone

I just purchased a new TD-12 yesterday, and it's in the mail as we speak(This is more excited than my introduction :P)!

My name's Jared, I'm from Massachusetts, and I've been drumming for about 12 years (Quite a bit of my life considering I'm only 18 now :3). I'm wildly hooked on jazz fusion these days, and have a vast collection of the stuff :] I'm hoping to find some good info on V-Expression kits, and customizing personal kits around here. I'm new to the electronic scene, so all this midi work is confusing stuff for me :S Anyways, I'm going to get looking, but I can't wait to meet everyone and hopefully contribute something of my own to this community in the future!

As for a little bit more about myself, I thought I'd share the list of artists from my iPod, since that can say a lot about a drummer *wink*

I have an 160 GB Ipod Classic ^^ A lot of jazz fusion on here. It's nearly all lossless, and I have discographies of most of these :] On to the artists!

Hi Mate, the TD-12 is an exelent place to start, better than the guy next door, he has 4 10 litre buckets, they aren't quiet, infact they are smegging noisy as hitting 4 10 litre buckets. Don't forget the pics when it's all a running.
        Nothing of importance here

          Hey Jared, welcome aboard.

The MIDI stuff is confusing, and very daunting. Start with pure audio and kind of "work your way up" to MIDI if that's the route you take. I mean you might find that the native TD-12 sounds and some VEX kits are all you need.

Welcome Jared. TD12 - I'm an envious TD9 owner. Hope you work it all out. It's not all that difficult in the long run. Just takes some reading & experimenting.

                Yeah! Attaboy

Very nice kit. Now, let's kick in the G.A.S. and replace EVERYTHING within one year. It's addictive, believe me

                Have fun with your kit!

I don't know about replacing anything in a year, haha. A good 40 years of G.A.S. to go though! Now all I need is a job with a real salary xD

                      Suh-weet set up! Congrats!

Do you run through headphones only or do you have an amp?

I have a few old fender amps lying around, but after some testing, I realized they were sounding pretty terrible. Hopefully, I'll be able to afford a decent amp sometime in the near future :] Another PD-85 is probably the beginning of the GAS for me though ^^
