    I just joined as my 12 year old son will become the owner of a set of D505's ...probably not the best buy according to the posts on here, but it's more of a "see if he'll stick it" rather than an investment. If he does stick at it then an upgrade will defo be on the cards.

    We all need to start somewhere, and you are right not to spend a fortune to start with.
    Good luck to your son - he'll stick it I'm sure, once you start hitting things with sticks, the urge is always there!

        As Kev says, once youve got the bug you never loose it.

        Playing any instrument gives you a means to express yourself as an individual and thats what makes music music. Its an art form, and the way you do it is personal to you.
