Funny thing is the chef was French but was forced to cater to the Dutch taste. And stamp pot isn't that bad if done ok. I would think of it as more of a Flemish than a Dutch dish.
Btw.:
La fin du siècle next to the Greenwich in Brussels does a nice one, but everything else they serve is even better.
two more things about Dutch food:
in Amsterdam I went to an Italian and it was the only time so far I got pasta served with chips. (can’t remember the name of the place, close to the flower market/ Leidseplein, street full of gay bars, nice steak restaurant and an Italian on the other side. “saturno” or something like this)
the other thing: I had my first ever chicken tikka masala pizza in Amsterdam (Bangladeshi guy who was born in A'dam and never left the Bijlmer, this is where I lived)
Cheap Dutch food is ****. If you are willing to pay, Dutch food is extremely good (supper club in A’dam for example, but expensive)
Best thing is the Rokerij close to Leidseplein. After a spliff everything tastes fabulous.
Even food of the wall like FEBO
My flight is on Saturday, can't wait to have some beef (living in India makes small things look great)
