  • Howdy from NY!

    Hey all...
Just wanted to say hello! I am a keyboard player for many years, and have "dabbled" playing drums. I built a studio in my house and have been trying to record a great acoustic drum sound now for 8 months. After thorough research, I dropped big bucks on a brand new TD-20 kit and I am loving every minute!!! Now, I need to convince drummers to give this a try...I seem to be getting resistance from many drummers....I guess they just need to sit and play these things!! Anyway....nice to meet you all!

Welcome from Bergen County, NJ! Yeah these E-drums are an acquired taste, but should not be!

        Hello and welcome!

where in the large state of NY is Dutchess country? near nyc, or buffalo, or albany? (that should allow me to place it!)

and yes, people are resistant to new things, and sometimes have to be force fed...but its for their own good!

Dutches is just North of NYC (north west to be correct).

For a guy like me, that might as well be Canada! (its not that far away from NYC, perhaps 30 to 40 minutes).

1.5 hours? Really? Wow it is like Canada.

I am in Oakland, right next to Ramsey. I'm from LI originally.

Vdrummer....Stony Brook....that is where my wife went to school....Mike..I am about 2 hours north of you....!! too bad! I am always looking for drummers to jam with, but lately, I am finding that to be quite difficult. I was with a drummer for almost 20 years...he just recently decided to "hang up his sticks"...he says he rather do bible study...revelation. Damn, my feeling is, concentrate on LIVING, not dying, and for crying out loud, use the gifts that God has given you, such as drumming, and PLAY!!! Of course, all of this was decided upon after I built my studio (which originally had an acoustic kit)...

Hello and how do you do. This is a nice site full of nice people (except for a couple of perpetually grouchy ones) and it sounds like you'll fit right in. Keep your hands and arms inside the car at all times, put your seat backs and tray tables in the upright and locked positions, and fasten your seat belt.

                        Wheeeee!

                        Shalom
