  • Just another "Newb"

    Hey everybody! I've been a member on this site for a month or so, but never introduced myself. My name is Shawn. I'm 28 years old and live in Connecticut. I'm new to e-drums and drumming all together. I've been drumming for about 2 months and I'm loving it. Even though I've been "drumming" on counter tops, pillows, or any other surface that makes noise with my hands for years...I never owned a kit. I was browsing some music store sites one day and came across V-Drums. I decided to take a trip to my local Guitar Center and started banging on a TD-6 they had setup on the floor. I instantly fell in love! I'm still not sure what the term "GAS" means, but from what I can gather...I think I have an extreme case of it. I bought a TD-6s in the begining of April. 3 weeks later, I traded it in for a TD-9s. But it doesn't end there. 2 weeks after I got my 9...I was back at GC for an acoustic kit. Just when I thought I was satisfied...I decided that I needed a TD-9kx. So...back to GC I went. LOL. I've had my TD-9kx for a couple weeks now and I think it's time for a TD-12. LOL. Where does it end?! Well, anyway...I've posted a bunch of threads on here, and all the responses have been very helpful. I just wanted to thank everybody who has taken the time to answer my questions. I've been to a few other drumming forums where people get aggrivated with the "newb's". People here are quite nice and seem happy to help, no matter how "newbish" the questions may be When I become a famous rockstar, I'll be sure to include you guys in the liner notes LOL.

    GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
    So far I have managed to avoid it, but a lot of people here don't have my will power.

    Welcome and have fun. And why not just skip the intermediary steps and just get a TD-20 - you know you want to.
