  • My First Forum

    Hi everyone,
just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm an almost 40 drummer from Australia, been playing since high school a bit over 20 years. Got my V-Drums about 2 years ago, tried some out at the music shop and loved them straight away so I got the TD-3 kit which served me well until I recently purchased a used TD-8 module and some mesh pads and with the help of you folks on the forum I've even made a few diy triggers Ie. a 13" mesh kick which came out real nice. This is the first forum I've ever participated in ( hence the title ) and I think its great the way every one freely shares info and helps each other out. Certainly helped me when I crashed my TD-8 trying to update it and picked up a few good tips on fixing my FD-8. Anyway thanks for all the great advice, this is certainly a fantastic resource for all electronic drum enthusiasts.

The feel gets better with age. But the creaks and moans get a little louder

Welcome aboard. The TD3 to 8 route is quite common and I'll sure you'll enjoy some of the additional functionality. I know that I haven't scratched the surface yet on TD8 and it's only after trying the recording function on the TD9 that I thought I'd better try it on the 8. Anyway, good to have another Aussie on the forum

Yeah the td-8 is far superior to the td-3 in many ways in particular the drum sounds, or more the ability to shape the sound to what you want, the only problem I've found is the cymbals choking when you play too fast. If anyone can help with that?
