    Hi Everyone,

this is actually my very first forum membership on the internet. & for something i love... drumming

i have been playing since i was 10 yers old but have not restarted a year back after a 14 year break!!! I am loving it.. I joined a band these guys have been extremely patient with me over the last year & now i am back into my element

i own 3 e & 3 a kits :O .. a bit overboard i guess but what the heck.. if guitarists can do it.. we drummers can surely do it

i have been in love with e kits since nearly 20 years,, my first was the yamaha DTX2... the second version of the yamaha e kit. but quite frankly i only figured out the details of what all you can do with e kits only starting last year.. its like it suddenly dawned upon me :O i was primarily using the e kits so that my neighbors dont complain. nothig more. i bought 2 new e kits jut to get better sound so now here I am with 3 e kits... 2 of these (td 30 as main module & td 10) i have combined to make the following set

4 octabans (still havent found the sound for them)
    3 toms
    2 floors
1 kick (with dbl bass pedal)
    1 snare

    1 HH on the left
    1 HH on the right
    ride
    3 x crash
    2 china
    1 ride
    2 splash
this is basically a mirror of my acoustic kit

i have connected the above kit via 2 modules to SD2 (wow what am amazing piece of VST..my guitarist introduced me to it)) via MOTU to my mac book pro.

i also play percussions (I love fusion also as i am half indian & half italian) & also own a HPD 10 & HPD 15 which i have rigged up with my Yamaha DTX.

i also own 3 acoustic kits which i love equally & am happy that we drummers now have so much choice. i love drumming & i if i had more money & space i would add a DDrum hybrid kit to my collection & definately a Korg wavedrum. (& then i my dream would be complete) ha ha ha!!!

anyhow I am facing a challenge in connecting my 2 Rolands (TD 30 & TD 10) to SD2. basically the triggering from the secondary module (TD10) which has my 2nd hih hat, chinas & 3rd crash is not not what i want... it gets confused (or i am) and repeats the cymbals. i guess its a channel assigment problem as SD2 thinks i am again using the other cymbal due to channel assigment.

2nd problem.. i am not able to get enough drums out of the SD2 UI to add 4 more toms (octabans.. & the sound is not avialble anywhere on the internet)

any idea how to resolve this as we want to start recording!! where should i post this question? did want to post it at the wrong thread.

    cheers

& lots of fun with drumming!!!

Welcome Briss. Nice of you to join in. Dont worry about posting in the wrong place. A lot of them overlap and somebody will always put you right.

Being half Indian, do you have all those rhythms in your head ?? They are great.

Welcome!!!! Post some pics and have fun here. As for more inputs there are a couple of options..an external box with more inputs (Roland made one called TMC-6, but I haven't seen members raving about using it for about 3 years now) or drumsplitter cables to split the inputs you're using that only require single triggering.

        K ;-)
        My bands: Alter Ego, Arcanum
        E Kit = Roland TDW-20s kit // Roland SPD-S// Pearl Demon Drives//
        A Kit = Tama Swingstar 5 pc (1981) w/roto toms (orig owner!) //Zildjians
        A Kit = Natal 6 pc with Paiste 2000 & Zildjian/MidiKNights/DrumSplitters

Welcome to the forum. That's a boat load of drums. Love to see some pictures. II was lucky enough to spend some time in Baden in the late 90's.
