I think its a basic TD 4 with a mesh snare i shopped around and the Roland has the most features available for the entry price point.I paid $500 cdn for it, it came with a V drum throne, headphones and some sticks. it is missing a Volume nob but i can probably find a replacement at an electronic store, right, or i just leave it set at loud. My family and space required a compact and quiet set up, this is perfect. Although, I hooked it up the an acoustic guitar amp last night when I set it up and it was great. Started to get my beat down but my right foot and left hand seem to be getting confused as to which is which LOL, but it was still fun. But, of course now my family insists I move it down to the basement where they don't have to listen to me till i get it right. I imagine I'm not the first drummer wannabe to be banished.

Anybody got any advice on what more I need to get this project of the ground so i can play with my wife and here friends, who all play guitar, and not in the basement i should add

Hey there new drummer!...Slobberdog couldn't have said it better.."it all starts with a heartbeat and time in the saddle". I heard a great quote the other day and it made me smile..
"never strive to "make it in music, just love playing and love music.. and if you are still get a thrill when you sit behind the kit 30 or 40 years later...you've made it big time"
Congrats on the TD4's!..enjoy the hell out of them as I'm sure you will!
I don't believe in mid life crisis's,I think at our age things that make you happy and put a smile on your face are just a little clearer and easier to see now.
Gotta go now and talk to my bank about that 57 Vette!

          Enjoy the ride my friend!

          Peace
          B

            Welcome mate!

Have just joined the forum myself, and got back into bashing some beats!

Like the guys above said, it really doesnt matter how rythmically challenged you are at the moment only time and practice will remedy that! But as long as you have fun doing it then everything else is a bonus!!

Well done on taking the leap and enjoy!

At my age, a heartbeat and "time in the saddle" are blessings.

The heart of the band is the heart beat. Thats what the drummer puts in.
