I guess I am what you would call a recreational drummer, meaning I do not play in a band. I had a Pintech kit many years ago. when I decided to buy a new kit, all my questions led to Roland. I like the kit so far, but having trouble getting the physical set up right, as well as setting up each instrument to sound the way I want. With some time, I'll get there. I have questions, but I will research the site before postings. Glad to be here!

Thanks for the welcome and kind words.
I haven't been able to spend much time working on the kit, but enough to have it all set up, cabled, and a small amount of practice.
I am including pics hoping to get some help with placement of the instruments. It is not comfortable right now. I need to get more vertical space between the hi hat & snare.
I'm hitting the sticks together way too much, although some of that is being rusty sticking anything. Also, on the kick pedal attachment/placement, I could not figure out how to achieve
what the instructions were saying. Right now, the pedal just butts up to leg. Pretty often I have to get the beater centered again. the kick also feels too far away, but I don't see any solution for that.
On the snare, it seems to fit in the middle, but I would like it a bit to the left. It also seems the hi hat tube should be about 8 inches longer. it seems too far forward.
Anyway, sorry for being longwinded. I am excited about getting in more practice and improving, so thanks for any help anyone can offer. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

You have to get your throne position and hieght in respect to the kick first. Forget everything else cause this will just fall into place later. Dont even set it up. Just get the throne and kick positions feeling good first. If you experience double hits on the kick dont worry about it. This will come right in time. The stick hitting stick occurs due to smaller hitting areas. This again will sort its self in time, and if you want to position the snare off centre it dont matter. Many pro drummers do this.

Thanks John. I was able to get things positioned a bit better after I really looked more closely at all the knobs. Any idea what I'm doing wrong with fick pedal? It's a decent (I think) Pearl pedal, but I cannot see how it attaches and the the beater is not square with the pad. Just bottom half hitting. May be a stupid question, but how do I know what the right is for the throne? Thanks again.

Under the footboard of the pedal there is a wingnut that is for clamping the pedal to the bottom of the bassdrum hoop. In your case, it has to clamp on the metal plate that you have under the whole pedal. Raise it a bit so that the pedal can clamp on to it and tighten the wingnut. It shouldn't move after that.Megadrum module, DIY A2E pads, DIY 2 & 3-zone cymbals, DIY hall-effect 3-zone hi-hat, El Cheapo buttkicker, DIY trigger beaters on DIY longboard/direct drive modded pedals.
