  • Pretty Much New Again

    Hi everyone,

It's been probably well over a year since I last visited, and I was pretty much new to the forums when I stopped visiting last so I'll reintroduce myself.

I stopped drumming again, about a year and a half ago due to too much work, then had no motivation to do much outside of work, had some serious issues with our house that took up most of my spare time, then started briefly again (for about 6 months) only to do some more damage to my back and have excessive work on again, then more lack of motivation to do much outside of work! Last year was a long, miserable year in general.

Anyway, it's a new year, I've almost got my motivation back, it's a bit of a battle but I have the best of intentions, I bought a new throne to be kinder to my back and I'll be starting physio so it doesn't keep happening. I'm coming back here because the enthusiasm you all have is really motivating!

Outside of drumming my hobbies are art and design, I'm a graphic designer for a living, I'm doing a lot of renovating which is more of a necessity than a hobby but I do sort of enjoy it. I'm getting back into running again (motivation once again) and I'll probably take up some more obstacle/mud running later in the year once my fitness is back.

I look forward to talking about drums and getting excited about all the cool e-drum things again.

    Welcome back!!!
Sometimes it is hard to get to the things we really love, I know myself and others have the same problem, sometimes life just throws a curve ball or just gives you home problems to deal with instead of riding my Harley or playing drums I gotta do chores LOL!
NOW with New Improved TD-30 Module, some V drums an other music making thingies with miscellaneous small furry animals, large hairy animals, motorcycle bits and a big muff:rolleyes:.

Welcome back mate. Several of us here suffer back, neck, wrist, elbow, ankle and knee problems but do we let it get us down,,,,,,,No way. Just keep on going and smile through the pain. Ive said that once I fall off my throne and cant get up again, thats when they can plant me in the ground. Ive had a few curved balls over the last few years but Im still here and kicking.

Being an adult sucks sometimes! Having to be responsible and do chores and things.

I'll get my back and wrist sorted eventually. I hope. I just need to keep the motivation.

Excuse the mess all around it, we're renovating and this is the room that gets everything dumped in it. Also bad phone photos. When my daughter decided she didn't want her colour changing LED strip lights from IKEA I quickly claimed them!

Sorry to hear about your elbow! That doesn't sound fun. I've made some changes with my computer use and my wrist is slowly improving. I wish there was a magic solution!

Yeah, I love the lights! If it wasn't for the fact that I didn't start playing until I was older, that I hate performing anything in front of anyone (even if I'm good at it) and that I'm not actually good I could totally have been a rock star!
