Well, I finally got all the pieces for my kit and actually set it up in its entirety for the first time, including the Demon Drives. Well...I'm sure there will be more pieces later...there always is lol. GAS!!!! Since I had never set up all the cymbals and stands nor the pedals I needed to see how everything would fit and mark the cymbal stands wherever I don't have memory locks. The HH stand pedal is different from where it is on my e kit and the practice e kit I use at my bandmate's house...taking some time to get used to moving my foot over to find the bass pedal. Might have to get a new HH stand, I prefer the HH closer to the snare drum but am used to the bass pedal to the right of it, not left. I really think I'm going to enjoy the new Mike Portnoy Stax cymbal I added.

I installed the Trick quick lock/release devices for all the cymbal stands except the Stax. Makes it so fast for set up and tear down. I'm keeping the regular threaded turn knob on the Stax so I can keep a fair amount of tension on that cymbal as it requires it. For those that don't like a rack, check out the first set up pic. Lots of hardware!

Rock and roll baby!! First gig with my new band Alter Ego is on June 28th!

    K ;-)

I LOVE the real McCoy clay poker chips, totally awesome and you can't stop playing with them once you pick them up!!! I always look for them online or when I'm in Vegas.

all real casino grade clay chips. Cost me over 4grand total for just under 4000 chips. I had to sell some sets to buy the TD20 set

And Daniel, sorry about the duck lips...but for the record, I was doing that long before Facebook ever came around lol. It's kind of my signature thing. Well, being a dork is my regular thing, being cool in my own mind is what gets me thru the day. And yeah....you gonna come check out my band in June? You need a trip to San Diego my friend. Guest room is all yours if you want it. Otherwise, some drunk from the party will be in there!

Great kit . Am I right that this kit was won in a contest, or do so have you and your kit mixed up with someone else. Also, just curious if you have ever compared the Natal acrylics to Ludwig Vistalites or crush acrylics . Never played on or looked at an acrylic kit up close before .

Yep, I won the basic kit, added the smaller rack tom (had it custom built and assembled it myself with the hardware provided by Natal) and added all the additional cymbals. It plays similar to the Ludwigs which it was built to replicate in honor of the great one John Bonham. I heard the Crush acrylics at NAMM and they sounded good. I think these ones sound more awesome with the hydraulic heads on them. I am still shocked at the great tones on these shells, I have always played wood shells in the past.

Thank you my friend! If I ever get out that way it would be an honor to hang out with you. Sadly...I don't think it will be as soon as June though..unless I win the lottery or something cool like that ..and then I will be traveling all over thew world visiting my v-drum family.

Maybe we should plan a huge V Drum meetup..like at NAMM or something, making it worth everyone's while to come out this way. Or some other event that would be cool to all attend AND meetup in person with all our great Forum members. I know they've done them before across the pond. Not sure how many I could house but prolly a couple easy enough. Sounds like a road trip might be in order!!!

Beautiful kit. Can't help but think of Bonham and the VistaIites. Also love that you mix your cymbals. Best ones for the job right?

Yep...they were built to honor Bonham at the Bonzo bash using his Vistalites as a model.
