      • I bought this DW kit in 2001 for 2750 with just kick, snare, and 2 toms. I then had DW make a matching snare and 8" tom. After a year I had found all the right cymbals. I know it's not a V Drum kit. I have one of those on it's way. Once I get that all set up I'll post pics of that too.
        Peace,

When I told the band that I was going to go electric, they all laughed. They were concerned with the stage looks of an electric set. They were only familiar with the cheesy side of electric drum sounds. So I had an awesome guy Stan make me up some triggers, I installed them, picked up a TD-12 and recovered my shells. I unveiled (unleashed) them at band practice. No one is laughing now.

                • Yesterday I made two short clips with my 2nd Axis and two KD-8s. The camera stopped after 30secs or so, however it's great for quiet practice and in a month or so I'll expand the stuff with some V-gear.

                  http://www.pekari.com/kit/AxisPlusKD8s.avi

Besides, I added nuts on the screws because the spring doesn't have enough tension on the back of the Kd-8s. With a loose screw I hear some ringing on each stroke and if I bolt the screw it touches the floor and I get a lot vibration on the whole Kd-8 and the Axis.

                  Maybe thishelps some people.

                    • My kit

I ended up buying a set from a buddy and mixed and matched pieces from my current set. THe old rack is a bit crammed, but I really didn't need the MDS-20 rack, it was just a bit too big.

I needed to hook up a few pads through my octapad and it seems to work really well.
