  • I got my DM10 Studio Mesh kit today, spent most of the afternoon setting it up, and after one tweak to get rid of some cross-talk between tom3 and crash2 I was up and running. I know that some people will say "it's not a Roland" but, (and it's a big but for a newbie like me), it cost only slightly more than a Roland hi-hat pad (stand not included). I love it!!

          • My TD-15KV, XM XED12 snare, Iron Cobra 600 pedal and Tama 600 Hi hat stand. Will be Vexed soon. Also I'm probably going to get drumsplitters since I need another crash and china cymbals.

XM snare skin was very noisy so I replaced it with a Remo one and added Roland hoop rubber.

            • There are some very, very nice kits here guys...I actually put my DTX400 in the closet for a long time...I had some financial & health problems, but I'm doing much better now, & I've gotten into playing my kit for hours on a daily basis...I still have a long way to go, but I'm learning....

Here's my kit, it started life as a Yamaha DTX400, but I've expanded it with the FRS hi-hat mod, a few extra rack tubes, a Yamaha DTXplorer module, & recently bought a Yamaha PCY100 ride cymbal, with plans for a 3-zone snare, another crash or two, & more before too long...I have to do it a little at a time, but it starting to take shape...

I've got quite a few inputs that are empty as of now, but that'll change a little at a time...

              • Very neat

FWIW I started out on a similar Yamaha setup 17 years ago - certainly a lot easier to move around than the Roland monster I now have

Thanxs man, I've been playing guitar for most of my life, but never really tried to learn to play drums until recently....I got tired of using the mouse to program beats, so here I am...I can say it's a lot of fun for me, I never thought I'd enjoy playing 'em this much...

                  Thanks again!!!

                        • My current set-up, TD-50DP with a custom 10" tom and a Jobeky 12" floor tom (originally bought as a snare), VH-11 (using the FD-8 for it though) and a CY-13r as a crash, along with my SPD-SX hooked up via MIDI for aux pads.

Along with some tat on the floor, of course.

                          • Interesting

I've thought of a central hi-hat like Bill Bruford seemed to use in later years - that's a clever solution.
