  • Critique my drumming

    hello people

I finally could record some of the rehearsals with the band. We are all amateurs, specially me and I have been playing only for 1 year, very intermitently by the way. But I thought it would be nice to share what I have achieved and take advantage of your advices on how to improve my drumming and specially learn from objective and knowledgeable minds how I'm doing.

    Thanks in advance

    JC

Here's the link, the song is not finished we are still working on it, specially the vocals.
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Not bad. Are you guys playing in like a cafeteria or gym or just have a ton of reverb on everything coming out of your PA? Hard to make out anything individually, really. Would like to hear the same track with some more clarity to the recording.

Thanks for sharing it! Keep drummin' man

The same here: can you do a recording straight out of the mixer instead of using a mike? It's hard to give useful comments this way.

Thanks for the comments. We rehearse at the ball room of the building where I live, there are tons of echoes there, that's why the reverb effect. I do not know how to load the original track, but it is a song by Caramelos de Cianuro a venzuelan rock band, if you have Ares you can download it from there or I can email it to you if you like

One of the main problem we are encountering s that we do not have the proper monitoring equipment and most of the songs we are playing by heart without hearing very well what the others are playing, I gues as the project progresses we will be able to make some investments in proper consoles and monitors.

        thanks again.

I agree with the above posters. Its tough to make out much of anything with a bad recording. Post again when you get something out of the mixer for sure. I'm interested to hear it

Thanks for the comments, I'll try to make a better recording, though it will not be easy since I do not have the equipment yet. We plan to go to a studio to the make the recording of the final versions, but it will not happen until next month. I guess I just let myself go with the animosity of showing off . Thanks again guys.
