  • *UPDATED* Deployment Setup

Again, a big thanks to Michael Render for giving me such a sweet deal on this RMP-5. The KD-80 was too big for my ruck, so i had to go with my Yamaha Single Kick. The Cymbal is from BigBackBeat on Ebay. i like this setup alot. thanks to everyone for all the support also. Just a few more weeks and i get some better pix of it with my Weapon

Bummer that the KD-80 was too big. But now you will have a mesh kick waiting for you when you get back. Looks like a great practice setup.

So awesome. I love the pic with the k-bar. And the image in my head of you loading up your practice kit in you ruck sack with all you military gear is priceless.

      Looks great, take care man.

Don't forget to use a protective patch on your mesh head when playing with the K-bar. If you thought felt was bad on a mesh head, just wait.

Stay safe, and best of luck.

I use a similar setup for giving lessons - just use a KD-7 for the kick and a CY-8 for the cymbal, with a tiny bass amp...

Nice blade man, looks like a KA-BAR to me.. those still standard issue huh? Don't know how much good it will do with the RMP-5 though dude, somehow I don't think the mesh head is up to it.. Nice neat little setup!!

                    TD-20 + TMC-6 + VF-1 + Gen16's = Not enough inputs.

At least it isn't nearly as dangerous now as it was in '04 when I was there, ha ha. Hey R-man be safe!

I am currently deployed myself. When not having iron dropped on the Taliban, I have been getting donations for the base chapel tent kit.
We have a donated Premier cabria and some Paiste student cymbals.
The drum heads are trashed, as are the pedals. There is a dw7000 with shot bearings (1/2 inch of play and a squeak) and a Premier single chain that I found a clamp screw for. The "throne" is an old chair.

I would like to thank the following for donations and going above and beyond.:
Evans drum heads...(the only brand I will use from now on.)
                        www.massmusic.net (drum throne)
smoke n drums (from Pearl forum) for: drumheads, sticks, and a crisp new Pearl P-2000C pedal. Smoke is retired US Army.

I am also getting some base money to build a plexiglass drum sheild so that the tent acoustics won't blow out the front row.

                          deployment..

Without compromising OpSec, where are you at Pyns? I'm deployed too, in Afghanistan. I've been buying upgrades for my v-kit so when I get back to Germany it'll be like Xmas! Dropping iron?! Sounds like artillery...

I am USAF...we drop JDAMS and GBU's... no artillery.
It's best I don't post where I am, everything I write is subject to interception.

...Anyway, I rotate back to the states in January...to a new AL13 aluminum Trick kit, augmented by electronics.
