  • Tadman live - club shot of my set

Will post some set up shots later. Still getting the lighting right. Have an expanded TD-20. Just got some kit toy cymbals (complements to Mike). I tend to prefer booms over the cymbal arms that came with TD-20 stand. (More flexibility).

            Nicely done !!
            Let's see more !!

Looks like I will be on the road with Jennifer Batten(toured with Jeff Beck & Michael Jackson) for a couple shows in North Carolina. She is touring in a custom RV & will use my house for her 3 NC shows...will jam some in the studio...will take pics & record the jams. What a cool opportunity to jam & tour with one of the best guitarrist in the world !!

PS: Michael R. Did you ever work out a show in your city??

            Best to all,

Great news! Indeed, an awesome opportunity. Playing with great musicians is a particularly excellent kind of joy.

Pics of one of the Tadman setups

Here are the "no special effects" shots of the kit, from above and front. No SPD-S or multi-pad here--was using them for some sampling. Note pic (for nostalgia) with the Synare 3 next to the right "floor" tom. Rarely hook that one up. Wouldn't take the beating after all these years. Good 80s "whoops" out of that one.

I want a Synare. But don't confuse them with the Syndrum, they were two distinct beasts.

I like your setup. It is very similar to my regular setup. (i.e. Not the Mondor) And I love the look of the Kit Toys china!

Must agree with Michael. Very cool setup Tadman.
Seeing your Synare there brings back memories for me. I remember playing around with one of those in 1984..... and great to see your Kit Toys splash and china. Is that one of Mike's new Chokeable China's? The reason I ask is because my splash and china are earlier non choke models and don't have his logo on the carbon fibre part whereas my new crash has his new logo and his new electronic choke. I see your china has the new white and red logo.

                          Very Nice, Tad

Looks similar to my setup. (I need to find my camera!!)

I don't see the TDA700's anywhere! What are you using now for Amplification?
I send my kit thru a Behringer 20CH mixer, then to a 700Watt PA system. I only play thru the amp when I have other mucisians come by for a jam, otherwise, I play thru a nice set of AKG headphones!

Your kit looks like it's very comfortable and easy to create music from!!

                            Tadman set up

Thanks, Michael--for the reminder re the Synare vs Syndrum issue. Won't make that mistake again! Also have a Synare sensor sitting around somewhere in the original box (remember those things, Michael and Superpuss? Photo attached--they connect to the drum rim).

Superpuss--yes, this is one of the new Kit Toys (China). Mike was great, as always, and got right on the order. Just received the China (15") and splash (9"). They are great.

Tend to put the SPD-20 near the left tom, to add to the "color" when playing. SPD-S typically goes to the left of the SPD-20.

Thanks all for the support. Bob--re the TSA 700s--those are under a dust cover, hence my wanting to sell to let others feel their love . I mostly hook right into a Firestudio for recording (you can see the iMac I use in front of the set). For gigging, I will use the bose system for the band. Seems to do away with the need for monitors, though I have used standard FOH mixer and PA set ups as well.

                              Tadman,
Awesome setup. Which iMac is that? I have the 24" with the 2.8 extreme processor. I'll never go back to Windows. Anyway, absolutely love the kit. Got any vids?
