  • Mimic Pro used in a Simple Minds Drumcover

Hey Mimic friends. I made a new mimic drumcover with my favourite Track from the 80th. I used the "DRUMEXTRACT" plugin because I found no drumless track from this tune. Hope you like it!

I think you have captured Mel Gaynors old Premier drums...in a good way.

The Alive Kicking song is a bit tricky to play because Mel hangs and holds more on every snare hit...very common for the 80s. You are playing more straight...but this works also!

I saw Simple Minds first time 1984 in Stockholm and just when the new gold dream album was released! That was a fantastic concert!

        Best regards

I donít know how you got such a great result with that plugin. I bought it, tried it on numerous songs, and I get nothing but massive compression and an unrecognizable result. lol

The video editing/effects are awesome as well. Very well produced.

Yes, this plugin works not 100% and the results depend from track to track. Its not possible to isolate any instrument from a baked cake and I think this software does the same algorithms than you could do by yourself with using EQ and phase in a DAW. Some people madeYT Videos of that procedere like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JahMokitTfs or here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35eqnk9rAHY.

I bought this tool because I couldn't find any drumless track of this song on the web. The first result was also a bit aweful but I pimped it with some Plugins in my DAW and after mixing it with the Mimic track, it overlays the audio artefacts ;-).

Thank you, with a little help from Alan and VEX ;-)!

That's right! Mels Groove works because he is a bit behind the backbeats. Maybe I played it straighter because I used clicktrack in the mimic while recording. :-)

Yes, New Gold Dream was such a great Album and I saw them also live in the 80th:-).

                  Best regards
