Awesome story and I can relate with much of it. I turn 56 next week and I'm as psyched as anyone just loving to play. Cannot wait to get out and perform. We, the band, are taking our time at nailing down songs. We'll get there, hopefully this summer.

I had a huge break from playing (15+ years), but now that I'm back, I think it's maturity, experience, etc, that is driving this passion to play and play well. Like pierre I am taking my time to learn new things. I don't fluff it off like I used to. I might go into a challenge a little frustrated, but never fear it and say screw that. I've discovered about myself that if I keep at it, it will come to me. I see everything is new to me... bring it on.

Salut Pierre, belle histoire! Lucky you, I don't have band members around me at the moment. Been playing solo for a while now. It's hard to find in my little corner of the world. The younger kids here just play candy pop or some kind of death metal... I know I should expand my horizons, but I just can't. Enjoy! It's all about the fun, as you already seem to know so well!

This is what it's all about....keep living the dream so that others may be inspired. I constantly spread the word wherever I go because even in my own social circles, no one is rocking frickin harder than me!!! Folks that used to party and be social and even play or gig are doing NOTHING now....so a small part of the reason I like to play live is for them. The rest is for me lol.

            If a live-playing musician gets stage-fright - what does a home-drummer get?

            ......

            .....

            ' Home-fright '...?

What a great story and great English too! Much better than my French! I'm 45 and just got back to playing live, you nailed it!

I started at 5 beating on paint cans with stir sticks, lol.

I really enjoyed this, please post more often!
