  • Drumless Tracks Server

    Hi all,

I used to be a semi-pro drummer for 10 years but I stopped playing a few years ago. Now I'm trying to come back using an electronic set.

Anyway, I would like to suggest all VDrummers to join and create a FTP server where we can all share drumless songs for practice.

Being a full time Web Architect/Developer, I volunteer myself to maintain this server.

    What do you all think??

That's very generous of you. I'm not so sure these tracks are in abundance, but if they are, a lot of us will make use of it. thanks....

      Good idea...

Trouble is I have been trying a similar thing for quite some time now. IF you have some drumless tracks do not hesitate to upload to my FTP server.

        Good Idea...

The idea is to have a "common" server where all VDrummers can share these songs. I know that it should be hard to get everyone involved but, for me (and I think for most VDrummers) to have access to various drumless tracks play an important role in having an electronic set.

If I can't get enough songs to practice, I'm afraid my drums will collect dust in a few months

I wish I had the dough to blow on an e-set just to play too music and then put my investment in the dust and play it only when I have some music to play too.

Now I know why some drummers are made fun of.

And I should have mentioned that you already offer that, AND, it's much appreciated by many of the folks on this board.

I think you have also made my point about availability (I should say non-availability).

A second site would be great too. Nothing wrong with having more than one source. Just wish there was more to put on them.

In the meantime, I'll continue to play to CD's and overpower the drummer.

I think I have a CD that has 6 songs without drums, just a click track. I could upload them to your site or e-mail them.
              I'm a drummer. I don't play the timpani! Hire a percussionist!!!

                  Dare I ask?

What about some of the songs from the Roland modules with the drums muted? Are they too cheesy?

Any song is a good song

I think any drumless song will be okay. Even the ones from the Roland modules.

                              More songs

I will also upload some tracks that in one channel are the drums and the rest of the instruments are in the other stereo channel.

Those are also good for practice.
