td-8 TO Audigy 2

hi,
i am looking to link my td 8 module to audigy 2 external soundcard to record midi.i am new to this and would really appreciate some pointers.there are midi in/out ports on my soundcard also spdif in/out and aux connections.can i connected directly from my module to my soundcard through midi ports or do i need an audio interface.what do you recommend.much appreciated.james

MIDI OUT from your module to MIDI IN on the Audigy will let you record.

What software are you going to be using to record with?
Are you using plug-ins or just recording the kit for playback/editing?

can i use a midi to usb cable or do i need to use a midi cable?
