  • M-audio FireWire Solo

I just picked up one of these for $199. My first recording device. I am curious as to how others like it. It seems to work well for me with Riffworks, but have only just begun to experiment with it.

I have not had a chance to use that interface yet but it looks like an ok unit..but I think the mackie onyx satellite interface is better for the price range...I prefer the preamps it has on board.

Also if you are looking info more software, Reaper is free and will multi track...great program.
I use and prefer Sonar 6 though.

My kit is custom running 10, 12, 14" toms, a 12" snare, 2 crash, 1 ride, 1 splash, and dual kick drum all plugged into a
Roland TD-6V module which runs MIDI to Superior Drummer 2
