  • Sonar not recognizing Midi Cymbal Chokes

For some odd reason Sonar is not recording cymbal chokes sent from my TD-10.... Any ideas?

    The Hi-Hat controller works fine.

I am using a TD-10 (Expanded) with Hart Ecymball II's (with choke). MOTU Midi Time Piece AV...... and Sonar.

    Thanks

      Incorrect.

You can record cymbal chokes from the v-drums into Sonar, you just need to enable recording of key aftertouch or channel aftertouch. I don't remember which of them.

You can get to the option via "tools, global, midi tab, and check the appropriate boxes".

This works fine with my VPro kit (all roland pads) and Sonar.

Thanks for the help! I found the Key after here on VDRUMS.com. Unfortunatly Sonar will not save my configuration changes.... get this.... on with regards to key and channel after touch.... their tech support doesn't seem to be very responsive.... but at least now I know!

Does someone have an instrument definition for Sonar for the TD-8? Thanks!

Have you tried deleting the ini file Sonar uses? That's one of their top tips for correcting weird errors.. Unless of course, not saving those settings is a feature and not a bug?

That's OK, I'm humiliated enough that I'll never post another response after this one
