  • Basic question playing VST with songs

    Hi All,

A very basic request. I'm using a Steven Slate through a td12 running it through a steinberger interface to help with latency. All I'm looking to do is have my drum sounds from the VST in one ear, and a song/track in the other ear so I can play along to songs and not get the sounds muddled up if you get me?

The songs will be playing from my laptop harddrive or maybe YouTube.

I am thinking there must be a way of hard panning say the vst to left and YouTube/laptop audio to the right?

    Thanks,
    JQ

Can you route the Windows audio output to a dedicated channel in the Steinberg? If so, can you simply pan it there? Same should go for the output for SSD to your interface. No digital mixer capabilities?
