  • Recording Td30k with interface and Reaper

    Hi everyone,

Needs some help recording my Td30 through to Reaper using Roland Tri-Capture interface. My friend is writing and recording using Reaper and needs me to lay some drum tracks down for him. I have setup a new track, underneath his media file track, for the td30 but the kit sounds like it is playing double, and the levels for the drums are in the red, but if i turn it down I can't hear myself through the headphones! I am using the headphone out jack to the interface as the master out is left and right.

I am a complete newb to recording so any help would be much appreciated!

Not sure why you need an interface here. The td30 has one built in. Is the double drums Reaper sending midi to your kit?

You don't have the monitoring set up correctly. You're probably hearing the live drums and the monitor feed, which has latency, at the same time.

Thanks for your input, it does sound like the monitoring is wrong, any ideas how to setup this up so I am only hearing the monitor feed?

          Thanks again
