  • TD 8 for TD 6?

I have a mint condition TD-8 that is not getting nearly enough use to warrant me keeping it.

If anyone who has a mint TD-6 and wants to upgrade, let me know. I would do a trade plus cash.

From what I've read in this forum, I don't think I'd want to trade my TD-6 for a TD-8. Doesn't seem like there's any advantage to that. Let the flames begin...

Well basically, you've just assured the fact that no one will be interested by badmouthing it. How about just keeping quite and letting people decide for themselves what they want...Jackass!

Have you even read anything in this forum, or do you just think it's an easy way to sell something? If you'd read any of the threads on here (with 3 whole posts, to date) you'd know these people will always make up their own mind. If all you're expecting is replies you like, maybe you should be posting on some other forum...Girlyman!

Before you jump in and mess up someone elses business proposition you might want to use the search function to get a clue about positional sensing, multiple outputs, V-editing, faders,# of trigger ins, foot control in, brush play.... to yourself and others those features might not be very important but to many they can be quite desirable, even critical.

The TD-6 is a great toy (I love mine) but
anyone who's looking to do anything beyond
fun at home IMO should definitely consider what the seller is proposing.

I've read every post in here on TD-6/TD-8, and from what I've read, I wouldn't trade. That's me. I don't the the TD-8 has the quality of sound that the TD-6 does. Others may feel differently, but if so, they don't exactly seem to be lining up to make the trade, so far. The intent was to stimulate some discussion on the pro's and con's. As far as the TD-6 being a toy goes, I play out with my band 6 to 8 nights a month (not counting practices) or more (yesterday was a double-header - a grocery store grand opening in the afternoon and a bar gig last night). I use the V-Clubs exclusively with this band and they sound and play great. Aside from that, I use them for jam sessions with other musicians in the area, when I sub for other bands, and for other projects, as well as my own practice. I'd say that's considerably more than "fun at home".

                    Personally,

My ONLY beef with the TD-6 is my lack of independent outputs for recording. This feature alone is tempting...

There are 10 forums. One of them is the Classified forum for people to buy, sell, trade, seek, whatever... There are nine other forums available for stimulating discussion. There's nothing stopping you from putting a damper on someone's sale, but my guess is you would probably become unglued if someone did that to you. Think about it.

Wow, thanks for letting me know how many forums there are. I've been wondering for so long. If my comments seriously kept anyone from making a trade, well, I'd like them to PM me and I'll see if I can't change their mind. As far as coming unglued, I don't need to think about it. Your guess is wrong. This is just a bulletin board. It would take a lot more than that.

Don't be cornfused. Of course it's true. Didn't you see the posts saying so in Vdrums.com? Makes sense to me.

Well, at the risk of being the straight guy in all the mirth and merriment, let me just say this about that:

I have both the TD-6 and the TD-8, and if someone wants to trade me an -8 for a -6 I'll take that trade any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

It's kind of like trading Marshall Faulk for Corey Dillon, or Coca-Cola for Kool-Aid. What you have is good, what you're wanting is not quite as good.

The only advantage the TD-6 has over the TD-8 is that it has 99 kit slots to the TD-8's 64. I don't know where all this business about the TD-6's sounds being "better" than the -8's came from, but it's nonsense. Both units have the exact same sounds in them in terms of quality and quantity.

                              Gentlemen, you may resume bombardment........
