  • Need advice folks...Very interesting situation I'm in

Hi everybody. So a couple months ago after ordering my PDP acoustic drums from GC, apparently Box 1 of 2 got lost in transit. I got box 2 right away which had the hardware for the entire drum kit, lugs, drum screws, floor tom legs, the snare and one floor tom. But. Box 1 never came, they couldn't find it etc... So GC ended up deciding to ship me another Box 1. Then box 1 was on back order. So long story short, Box 1 did end up at my house one day, with no tracking number about a week after Box 2 came on time. Well fast forward to today, what ended up on my door step? Another Box 1! I guess they never cancelled the back ordered Box 1 they re ordered for me. So my question is, what do I do with this now? Box 1 has the bass drum, 10", 12" toms and one of the floor toms, but obviously no snare, no hardware, all of which box 2 has which I got! LOL. So now I have this Box 1. What would you do? Convert them into edrums with mesh heads? I don't really need to or want to. If I was gigging more, like every week or month, I would consider buying the hardware and lugs etc... And using one as the road kit in cases and leave them packed up so I wouldn't have to tear up and down all the time. Any thoughts?

Send it back so they don't charge you for it.

True story. At least contact the people at GC about the missing box magically arriving on your doorstep and ask if it can be returned to your local store. You know that it will somehow end up on your CC and you will one day have to dispute the charges.

Best to just be honest and give them the box back. They did good to you by sending you another box due to the one missing. Best to return the favor back to them.
I think my work is done here.

I agree with the others. Chances are they'll never know, but you'll never know if they'll never know, you know? You could gain a shell pack out of this situation, but the chance that the arrival of the missing box will make it to the ears of GC and they decide to charge you for it isn't very slim to be honest. So call them and say that if they want it back they just have to arrange for pickup

Agreed too! ...or you could just order another Box 2 (the snare & hardware-box), and build yourself an uber-cool PDP monster-kit!

          Hehehe.....

LOL Darn! Only honest opinions huh? Haha. I honestly don't think they will charge my CC. Owning and Being in a retail business that takes CC's, there are rules and policies in place about CC numbers. They can't keep my card on file and in the transaction the cards are masked and encrypted, so in order for them to charge me, they'd need to get the CC info again.

You have such a nice kit now and sounds like you are reaching to keep it. You probably won't get more than a pat on the back from Guitar Center, but that's probably not who is going to be sitting at the front of the Pearly Gates. I don't know about you, but I can't afford any more trangressions! Do the right thing, brother, it pays in the long run. And this is coming from a guy who grew up in the used car business who learned it all the hard way. I am sure it is tempting, but I would never rob a bank with you. If you were going to do it, why put it in incriminating print? LOL! Just wanted you to see that I am still devious, but reforming one day at a time!

Dude. Do the right thing. Call them and have them issue a pick up ticket.

Send it back, or at least tell them. In Australia a lot of things order cost as much in shipping, so when I do get sent duplicates (which has never happened with anything that expensive though) I often get to keep it because the write it off as lost and shipping is too much for them to want to retrieve it. That is the only benefit of expensive shipping!
